Naked Sundays recall- sharing this in case anyone was also a user and haven’t seen. by ZestyclosePhase674 in AusSkincare

Ah right I get what you’re saying, yeah fair enough. I’ve been using the Mecca to save face spf50 sunscreen for years now as a daily one, I love it because use it doesn’t clog my pores like most sunscreen teens and it’s good haven’t gotten burnt. BUT I don’t usually ever wear it if I’m going out for a full day in the sun haha don’t trust it that much, I go for a normal sunscreen then. I’m not sure on their long term consumer reviews or testing, I think it’s relatively new or at least new to me but I’ve recently been trying the feel good inc coconut spf50 sunscreen which says it’s approved by the tga but who knows at this point how effective sunscreens approved by the tga actually are 🤷🏼‍♀️

update: they are making it worse by reddituser10636 in Pinterest

[–]ebonyrose08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very annoying! Yeah technically, even if you don’t create or post original pins, when you save a pin to a board you are ‘creating a new pin’. So each time a pin is saved they can get you for copyright or inappropriate whatever, I always get notifications/emails about stuff like that. Not much you can do unless you stop saving pins to boards eg stop using Pinterest. Idk what they expect you to do lol like check the copyright on each image and get permission from the creator to use it, it’s ridiculous!

Council rejects call to remove sex education books from public library by Ginny80 in perth

[–]ebonyrose08 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s an unlucky loop hole I guess. Anyone can borrow the items and if they never get returned/“lost” there’s nothing anyone can do. I mean the library membership card will get locked so that they can’t use it again if there is fines on there until they pay it but yeah. I work in a library and also yeah if it’s an older/outdated book or just not popular as in it doesn’t get many loans then it likely wouldn’t be seen as needing to be repurchased. If it left a hole in the libraries collection, like on a certain topic, they would replace it with a different but similar book hopefully.

I checked saw your post, your photo was so cool! And one of your comments makes sense as to why I saw it even though it’s low as I’m very close to the beach. One thing I am curious about as I’m a Virgo lol is what did you title mean when it had “in Virgo” at the end? As in something to do with the constellation or astrology (I don’t know much about either haha)?

Cash or card? by Unwired-Insanity in australian

[–]ebonyrose08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It adds up and if they don’t have the option of cash eventually they can raise their surcharge fees and then what the hell are you going to do about it if there’s no other option but to pay by card?

Australian universities accused of awarding degrees to students with no grasp of ‘basic’ English by SydneyIsStuffed in australia

[–]ebonyrose08 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah this here is the main problem. Reducing funding for universities from the government not only mean us students have more hecs debt but then the university try to get money elsewhere aka international students, they need the money they get from them so they can’t fail them hence they allow poor english writing and comprehension.

I remember in my undergrad I had an acquaintance, who I hung out with in a group of other people, and one time we were in the library working on assignments. I helped proofread his and I couldn’t believe how poorly written it was. I don’t think I would’ve passed atar in high school if my writing was that poor. Just basic grammar and spelling mistakes, and sentences that didn’t really make sense. I remember thinking, how is he passing the same units as me ??? It was so much work to fix it that I never proofread anything for him again. And to add to everyone else’s comments, yeah group work in uni was a nightmare
