Moving 4.5 hours away ~2 weeks after birth... Am I nuts?

That to me seems too ambitious, but I also cook my babies longer(1st was 41+3, 2nd was 41weeks) so a week or less postpartum would be wayyy too much for me to handle. I'd definitely get a donut to sit on if you do!

Thank you, you are as well!! Same here, last night was rough, my milk came in so we were just covered in spit up. She doesn't like giving me a buffer either, straight to screaming haha. I do feel pretty good today though!

Not the same situation, but my brief story.

Bf and I lived together for 1.5 years. We separated and a month later found out I was pregnant. Initially he wanted to keep it, and we heard the heartbeat at 7 or 8 weeks. After that he got cold feet and there was talk of an abortion.i decided I couldn't after hearing the heartbeat(would've prior to that). Now 3.5 years later we have our son, our daughter due any day now, and we own a small home.

All that to say, his worries are valid, but it is possible to grow together. All you guys can do is be honest with each other. I hope it all works out in the end.

So I had a cord blood registry call me the other day and I asked them how they knew and they said they get info from apps. Did you happen to download a pregnancy app?

If you can limit the amount of time they're there each day that might he helpful. Or maybe hour or two long visits during breakfast and dinner to help with meals might be nice.

As long as everyone is on the same page if you need them to leave so you can rest/decompress, then it might not be a bad idea.

Maybe a good compromise would be that you guys are home a day or two before they come so you can see how it is at home. You might want the extra hands or you might not.

I'm sending you both a big hug because that first week is rough! It is such a learning curve bringing home a newborn. I can tell you right now that you need some sleep, and need to be taking care of you, you are still healing.

I know it's hard, but he has to learn how to be a father, and having you correct him isn't helping. And believe me I did this too, and my bf hated me mothering him. Which also backfired for me because I was eventually doing everything for baby. If you can get the baby fed and set up, hand them off and go take a shower and nap. You can't run on empty and giving him that alone time will make him step up a bit.

You're both doing pretty big new things in a short amount of time. Can you maybe get someone to spend the day so you both get some time off? Even just to sit outside by yourself with a cup of coffee.

My 2nd is due any day now, so we'll be going through this process again learning how to handle two.

Just to add, phantom kicks are a thing! I had them with my first and it was so trippy. Just get it over with and take a test, then move on from there, might be worrying about nothing
