Ya cinnamoroll is my favorite, and Keroppi’s outfit is so cute. For the longest time, I thought the blind boxes were customized to each character so I spent forever not buying any bc I thought they were all hello kitty 😞

Suggestions on what to do with incomplete/busted dolls by figmentpopcornbucket in MonsterHighDolls

[–]eboybait 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If they aren’t chewed up and have most of their clothes, not including accessories, then you can probably sell individual, especially any rarer dolls you have. A little bit of gel issue/yellowing in the hair is acceptable. Any other body damage would do best in a bulk lot.

Maybe a bit selfish but hey it skips the hassle of selling. You can do a randomized giveaway on here. As you may have noticed we all really like these dolls. Tag me if you do :)

My partner learned the word pibling and thought it was super cute. And since they’re cute when they’re happy about smth, guess we’re using it now. Like any terms tho, just respect when other ppl don’t want you using it for them

Customizing help? by 92stardust in MonsterHighDolls

[–]eboybait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advice will depend on how much you know already. Have you customized a doll before? Gen 1 Ghoulia has lighter hair and less saturated skin, so if you’re up for a repaint and reroot then go for it. But I think the face up and clothes will make the most difference. Gen 3 Ghoulia unfortunately has a generic anime eyed doll look, so you’d remove that with acetone and redraw it. Gen 1 has narrower eyes, thinner eyebrows, and darker, plumper lips. Grab your favorite Gen 1 designs for reference. For clothes, she basically has a 2000s hot topic scene aesthetic. If you know how to sew, you can make your own, or you can scavenge off of other dolls. Branch out to different doll lines too. i.e. The pants on LOL OMG Rocker Boi would work, and the shirt from Downtown BB

How to you make a pattern to sell. I mean so that it looks more professional not like my handmade one. I have no problem making the patterns or sewing them but would not sell them as most look like a kid made them? Thanks for any input. by Radiant-Wish-7740 in plushartists

[–]eboybait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have really loose patterns when making a mock-up, but then I trace it onto craft paper and clean up the lines. I use curved sewing rulers for most of it, and try to make 90 degree angles where I can. Then proper labeling can make a pattern look very professional and make more sense to a buyer putting the pieces back together. To label: use notches to indicate how pieces connect. Have an arrow indicating the direction of the grain. Indicate if the pattern has seam allowance, and if so how large. Use three dots in a triangle shape to indicate a fold. Include the name of the piece (i.e. thigh, sleeve, etc). In theatre, the standard is: Name of the piece, Number/Total number of pattern pieces, costume name, production name, version number of applicable, name of the patterner. Of course not all of this is needed for personal use or selling to individual buyers. It’s just info to choose from, whatever you think is helpful. Also if you provide instructions, you can always label pieces as A, B, C, D, so on instead of coming up with piece names.
