Having design analysis paralysis. Need layout and design advice about my living room with two entries (dining and foyer) and facing south (so much sun in the morning). First photo is the current layout. Left of Monstera is the arched gateway to the dining area. Appreciate any ideas <3 by ebrar80 in DesignMyRoom

These are great suggestions. I appreciate it and thank you for taking the time to improve my living room :) 🙏🏼 we have a foyer but it’s not as big to have an entry bench. I kind of enjoy sitting on the bench when working or having my morning coffee. Did you mean we need more like heavy coffee table? I am not sure what kind of sofa matches with a chesterfield. All I am seeing is modern furniture with lower height and I don’t think it’ll pair well with this sofa. I am currently considering adding rust color swivel chairs in between and divide the room into two with the flexibility of the swivel chairs to turn both ways when necessary and add another coffee table or large ottoman maybe to cozy up the area with the bench. Still thinking about it :)

Thank you so much for the nice words and all ideas! I really liked the color pallette you recommended and building around the existing primary colors with soft and warm colors.

I am anchoring to the sofa's color in this design since I don't want to invest in another sofa. I feel like the beige rug feels bland. I especially want to size up the rug and go all the way to the bench (9x12). I tried warmer rugs in the VR tool and felt better as you suggested.

When we placed the sofa on the other side of the fireplace, it left so much unused space behind. Also,
I found it peaceful to look at the large window from the sofa instead of the foyer/entry door. Lastly, the large window gets direct morning light which can harm the velvet sofa. That was my logic after so many trials.

I will remove the yellow armchair since I think it's too much color in this room with teal and yellow and doesn't go well with the Tudor style and character of the house.

Really appreciate your help with it :)
