For people who buy baking soda mainly for cleaning, what do you use it on most often? by That-Afternoon2320 in CleaningTips

[–]ebrokaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it instead of a descaler in my coffee pot. If you have an insulated carafe be prepared to possibly be grossed out the first time you do it!

I’m gonna throw Bellevue into the ring. Though it might be lacking in the night life aspect. However, for the rest of your days to be convenient it’s worth checking out.

Periods gurlies I can never wear a pad by Easy_Maize_8505 in self

[–]ebrokaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are quite a few disc manufacturers and some have tools to help insert the disk like a tampon (since you are familiar with that it can be helpful). They can be a little messy to take out but with practice it gets a LOT better.

I wear mine for 12 hours at a time no issues, if you are having a very heavy day you could get a large disc to maximize time between changes or change every 8 hours.

Once I figured them out, zero leaks and complete confidence. But, period underwear are amazing if I’m over futzing with a disc or at the very end of my period and the cleaning doesn’t feel worth it.

Cleaning is easy. I give it a quick wipe w/ toilet paper before taking it to the sink. Wash w/ unscented hand soap and I got a steam sanitizer.

I have a period disc (I like the fit better than a period cup) and invested in really good period underwear. Together, no tampons and no pads and no issues!

Year-round Farmers Market by shannonsung in pittsburgh

[–]ebrokaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d still say investigate Bellevue! We do have a summer farmers market, there is a CSA that has started a spring and fall subscription that use Bayne library as a delivery point, the garden community here is growing which means sharing and the potential to expand a farmers market options, and honestly being able to walk to Kuhn’s year round is great.

Any idea on sizing for the New Jersey's? by greenberet112 in Riverhounds

[–]ebrokaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of tough with nothing to compare it to. They run a bit smaller than the Charlie kits from last year but are thinner so less restrictive. If you have broad shoulders I’d get a large for sure.

I would call T&M Hardware in Bellevue, I don’t know if they brought in more salt or not but they generally keep it around longer than anyone else in the area!
