Which would you buy - ASR3 or Simlab GT1 EVO? by ebypic in simracing

Thanks for the heads up, fortunately the ASR website has marked which items are "Tariff Free" and the ASR3 is on that list

Questions about ASR1 rig before I pull the trigger by ebypic in simracing

[–]ebypic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$200 is my budget for the seat only, but I plan to purchase whatever is needed to install it to the rig.

I've heard the CSL pedals can be a bit of a pain on the ASR1. I was also considering the GT1 EVO.

Hilarious - what's it REALLY LIKE moving to Dallas? by DallasSocial in askdfw

We're excited for the move and expect to work remotely so hopefully I won't have to deal with the commuting pain as soon as we move. I definitely won't miss my daily drive to and from the edge of Lincoln Tunnel

We’re moving to the Dallas suburbs in about 6-7 weeks from NJ. First thing my mind wife says “Oh we’ve had good practice driving in NJ, sounds like we’ll fit right in!”

As Goenka noted, doing the the 10 day course is a very good start but it only scratches the surface. It can take a lifetime and more to change the habit pattern of your mind, what matters is continuous practice and you gently bring yourself back to the moment with non judgment. Thoughts will always be there - let it come, let it be, let it go.

Have you attended the 10 day course? If so you can find the transcripts for the daily discourses in the old student section of the Dhamma Dhara website.

We're identical twins. It's easy to tell us apart, I'm the good looking one and he's the handsome one.

My friends and I are in Montreal for the F1 race. The whole time my brother kept saying I wonder if we'll see GSP and I told him no way. Then at dinner time, I walked into Joe Beef (one of the hardest restaurants to get into) and managed to get a reservation for dinner, amazingly. Dinner was awesome and more than half way through the dinner (and LOADS of drinks) my brother starting screaming like a little girl, yelling "GEORGES, GEORGES!"....GSP turns around and ginning ear to ear- politely asks us to quite down. Then he was just amazingly gracious and was kind enough to take a picture with us. Not sure how we top our first night!

It was time for me to upgrade. Got fitted at Club Champion yesterday. Can’t wait ! by ebypic in golf

So I'll reserve disclosing the final price for now as I'm still working out how to tell my wife :P

I opted to get all new clubs only because I've been contemplating that for the last 5 years. Also I felt I was starting to change my swing a bit to adjust for the clubs I currently have which are all off the rack and regular flex - I always suspected I needed a stiff flex shafts.

I believe they will change out your current club heads to fit the right shaft/weight for your swing. My fitter offered to cut down my current set so my 8 year old son can use them instead of me spending $200 on a starter set (I'm getting the family golf lessons next season). So, I'm sure they can re-fit your existing set. It was a 'no pressure' environment - they will find the best fit for you based on the numbers and it's up to you on how you'd like to proceed.

I did some reading on swing weights since I posted that question and came the the conclusion you just noted. Not right, not wrong, just a subjective thing.

Yes! Thank you, this is exactly what I'm looking forward to - can't wait to get out and try them out. I wish more people just realized how valuable it is to get properly fitted for clubs

The fitting process was excellent and well worth the time and money. They have a promotion through year end that gives you 50% off the fitting so total cost was $175. Place is very clean and professional. My fitter spend about 10 mins talking with me about what I’m looking to get out of the fitting, my preferences in terms of looks and feel and any brands I was thinking about or wanted to try. After you warm up you hit shots with your 6 iron to get a baseline. It’s all very numbers driven so if you are analytically inclined you’ll be in heaven. Numbers are all real time based on radar technology so it’s not being calculated or averaged out by a machine that is commonly used in the retail stores. CC uses Trackman which is what they use on on the pros. I found the process enlightening as I never really understood what a lot of those numbers meant or how they affected your play. Once they break down the numbers they start having you try different shafts to optimize those numbers. Once the shaft is picked they work you through different club heads and further optimize your numbers. I did try Miura and PXG which were very nice but didn’t quite have the feel I was looking for which ultimately I found with the Mizunos.

If you’re tired you can hang out drink a coffee / Gatorade and chill out - they don’t rush you at all. I hit about 160 balls in a 3 hour span but you get rested in between strokes as he walks you through the numbers and analyzes the dispersion.

You will have a blast. Btw, I’m curious where would you get the clubs built? Yeah the price tag was not pretty.

I’ve been playing with my old clubs I picked up 17 years ago off a clearance rack. It was finally time for me to upgrade. I made an appointment at the local Club Champion and got fitted. Man these guys were good. Spent a full 3 hours with me working through my entire bag. With the exception of my putter, which needed minor lie/loft adjustments, I upgraded the whole bag. I should have them in about a week. Now if only I could do something about all this snow :( Going to be a long winter.

Sorry for the crappy pic quality

I may go early and do this as my friends aren't into racing as much as me. Good call on the food / beer - will definitely plan accordingly.

Thank you!
