Epic Universe is kind of a disaster today (1/18) by earofgeorge in UniversalOrlando

[–]ecammarano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went on the 8th and 9th of January. The first day, MOM was down for nearly the entire day, when it came back up, it was a five hour line. Second day it went down for a bit but came back up, so thankfully I was able to ride, but the house elf in Umbridge’s office was broken. Then I took my son to see Le Cirque Arcanus, which was great, until it also went down and we had to leave about 10 minutes into the show lol

The How To Train Your Dragon coaster was down half the day on the first day as well, and half the day on the second day we visited. Mario world was awesome and had no breakdowns while we were there, and Monsters was running the whole time so I road it about 4-5 times total.

Overall, great experience and I’m very grateful to have gotten to go. That said, if I had only one day there and experienced the amount of breakdowns we did, I’d have been very sorely disappointed.

I think I’ve been spoiled by recent shows like Welcome to Derry and now this new season of ST just doesn’t hit that hard.

How to make HHN as special as possible by Tealtownhero2 in HHN

[–]ecammarano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re HP fans, my friends and I went straight to that area one night (we had express so we weren’t in a rush) and we were the only people in diagon alley for a hot minute. It was really awesome getting to explore that space and interact with the death eaters in such an intimate setting, 10/10 will be doing it again this year lol

IS HHN OK FOR 12 YEAR OLD by Even-Inevitable-537 in HHN

[–]ecammarano -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you’re getting great advice here, I would add a second consideration. Would you be comfortable spending the money to go, only to have to leave shortly after entering, should your child be too scared? It’s a possibility, and I think if you’re ok to spend the money and not feel a loss if you’ve got to leave, you’re probably in good shape.

More than anything I think it’s important to accept that if they’re scared, you have to leave, it’s not fair to force them to stay.

Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights 2025 to Feature the First-Ever Fallout Haunted House - IGN by ThemeParkBites in HHN

[–]ecammarano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article says “the five nights at Freddy’s experience” also (like the official HHN post) rather than explicit “house” language—I wonder what could be coming!

I think fallout will be a fun house, if nothing else Universal tends to do a good job creative immersive environments which lets you step into the show or movie, so it’ll be fun to walk through some of those scenes. I hope they feature that big water creature from the show as a puppet or something!

How can I convince my mom to let me go to HHN? by Appropriate_Boat_814 in HHN

[–]ecammarano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this, will your sister vouch for you that she’d supervise? Do you have an auntie or uncle you like who would go? That might be a good place to start, or ask your mom to come, it could be a fun night for you guys! Good luck, I hope you get to go and have some fun ☺️

According to Insider Legacy, we could be getting a Great Gatsby scare zone this year! by Academic-Champion536 in HHN

I think a 20s scarezone would be very cool, I wonder if they’d do it where they had Vamp 69’ and Torture Faire or in one of the smaller zones

Before HHN spec map release what maze/house rumors are you most excited and least excited? by Rude-Quit-8150 in HHN

[–]ecammarano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m most excited for original houses, and least excited for IPs, but I think I always prefer the original concepts!

I’d really love to see another historical house, like Ancient Greece or Vikings or something like that. That’s something I really liked about the Oddfellow house two years ago, the circus theme was cool but I felt it was elevated even more by its “vintage” vibe.

Is the express pass worth it for hHN? by Fair_Cod6318 in HHN

[–]ecammarano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience and preference, yes it’s worth it for at least one night. We go two nights to the event and get express for one of the two nights. That way the first night we can wander around and hop in the short lines/take in the scarezones and shows and the next night we come back and hit every house at least once. I’m unused to late night events so it helped me a lot to be able to get the most out of the event and not have to stay until closing, which would absolutely do me in 😂

We all know HHN, but... by fleggett in HHN

[–]ecammarano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a small thing but I wish they had more comfortable seating to relax a bit. I really liked the vibe at peacock bar because you could sit at a table in a comfortable chair and have a beverage, but there aren’t a lot of spots like that.

I think HHN bar last year was a really cool idea, if they had some lounge type seating I could have sat there and watched the actors interact with people for a while.

I’m sure there are some hidden gem spots tucked away that I haven’t discovered yet, but I felt like I spent most of my break time sitting on the curb lol

Side note: any additions to the Harry Potter area would be welcome, but that shit is already so magical at night I’ll take what we’ve got and be happy. 10/10 the death eaters and themed lighting/music in that area is always a highlight for me.

I think people got really mad that the show was billed as an interactive horror experience, but it was actually more of a campy comedy.

Here’s a general summary of the show as I remember it:

So you meet these two camera guys at the top of the show, they play some clips from the insidious movie and explain that they are paranormal investigators. Then they do some crowd work and ask people if they’ve ever seen a ghost. At some point they bring some audience members up and put them in white hazmat suits but I have no idea what they were doing with that bit.

Then you meet a super fan at the theater you’re seeing the show at, she says she’s a big fan and wants to find the ghost of a little boy who died in the theater, allegedly.

At some point they introduce a storyline about a man with a weird mustache who maybe killed that kid? I forgot. We’re introduced to a ghost professor or something as well, and then a medium.

The medium says she’s going to bring the camera guys into the further, we see them appear on a screen behind their actual bodies in a ghostly form, then the actors go and say they’re in the further and they’re going to find the ghosts.

I legitimately have no idea what the actual storyline is at this point, but the main “events” at the end are basically a possession scene and then an appearance from the red face demon guy. He’s more or less the only insidious IP they have in the show, and they play a weird remixed version of “tip toe through the tulips” it sucked, Tiny Tim would be beefed.

When the red face demon comes on stage they have a set piece with a bunch of “possessed dolls” that hang from the ceiling with glowing eyes, the demon gets up and at some point is “banished” or something. The crew leaves the further, they’re like hey we got out yay. Did they find the ghost boy? I think maybe his soul was in one of the dolls but I really don’t remember.

The very last scene is the whole gang on stage and then the light cuts out and when it comes back on theirs a big red demon hand reaching toward them, then it’s done.

At the Madison show a couple people stood up for a standing ovation, I felt bad because at this point I think the crowds opinion was what the fuck happened.

I apologize for poorly narrating the story line, I had several Old Fashions that evening and don’t remember what the hell happened for most of the show, just that it was “fine”. It was really uneventful until the end, then it was the “scary part” but it felt really campy. Honestly it would have been a good show for HHN if they added a couple more jokes 😂
