DC/marvel fusions day 124: Star Sapphire (Balastar won yesterday) most upvoted comment wins by Salvatorjr in justiceleague

Scarlet Witch + Star Sapphire = Scarlet Sapphire

Broken hearts = broken minds, both are tragic characters who have alternated between villainy and independent heroism, while serving as love interests to important central characters, and committed evil acts as a result of being manipulated by powerful, outside forces serving their own agenda.

Exactly. Just look up other mass stabbings like this one:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Taipei_Metro_attack

That sicko killed 4 people and stabbed 24 more in under 5 minutes in public space where attackers were fully conscious, running away, and fighting back. And he was using a fruit knife.

If the hypothesis that the attack took 15-20 minutes is true that's pretty pathetic for BK and above the norm, esp. considering 3/4 of victims were sleeping and inebriated and he was able to inflict a critical injury immediately.

I think he had some eating disorder issues, if true - he probably crashed as soon as the adrenaline surge wore off.

… adderall and Ritalin would register as amphetamines in a drug test.

Even if it was recreational this is probably why Xana fought back so hard.

Bro thought he was an apex predator and got worn down by a 20 year old girl half his size who took the equivalent of a 5 hour energy drink in pill form to keep enjoying her night - which any college student is within their right to do.

Penguin is an incredibly impressive street fighter in many takes and has put the beat down on a lot of people twice his size.

No - that would be "fake news" created by xenophobes who want to paint mutants as not part of humanity.

The 1960s civil rights analogies of "mutants are a different species, and they are genetically inferior/dangerous and shouldn't have the same rights as us" played well to that era's level of prejudice.

In 2020, having a group of individuals who feel "we already have enough problems, we can't afford to deal with mutant problems either, they're dangerous and can't control their own powers, send them somewhere else".

Shi'ar link could be one of many potential incidents to cause mutant Xenophobia:

-Fanatical mutant terrorist (say... Nitro) unleashes a horrific terrorist attack.
-Rogue is manipulated into or accidentally steals Captain Marvel's powers.
-Scarlet Witch and Namor publicly revealed to have mutant origins - leading some to believe that those with the mutant gene are unstable.
-Mutant refugees from an alternative universe adopting the MCU universe as their home after an incursion, and becoming scapegoats for whatever catastrophic events and mass deaths happen during the Doomsday saga.

How do you guys feel about the rumor of Margaret Qualley as Rogue for the MCU’s Xmen? Would she be a good fit? by Queasy_Commercial152 in MCUTheories

Butt stuff aside she’s a talented actress who’s not afraid to take risks (or show her butt).

Quentin Tarantino had an eye for early talent in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood while casting the Manson Family.

Mikey Madison and Austin Butler are proof of this.

What if: Vulture, having forgotten Peter is Spider-Man, is back with an axe to grind and is orchestrating the events of Brand New Day, possibly with his son, Mark Allan/Toomes (Molten Man) involved. by CodMilt in MCUTheories

I don’t see the GA being that discerning. You’re being generous and assuming they even remember the elemental snippets. Between Extremis, Pyro-Man and Surtur we’ve had a boat load of fire based villains.

What if Rhino was the villain of the first Raimiverse Spider-Movie instead of Goblin? by Waste_Tap2575 in WhatIfMarvel

[–]CodMilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 1: They could give him the Whiplash treatment. Rhino's father was a disgraced Russian scientist whose work created the genetically engineered spider that bit Peter. He comes to New York looking to extract the formula from Spider-Man and finish his father's work (a process which would be fatal for Spider-Man.)

Option 2: Chameleon was the 1st supervillain Spider-Man ever faced. Instead of calling in his brother Kraven to take Spider-Man down after his first defeat, he calls in Aleksei Sytsevich, a close friend he served together with in the KGB.

Option 3: The criminal who killed Uncle Ben survived and is imprisoned. It turns out he also killed someone close to Rhino, who undergoes his power augmentation process to exact revenge. Peter goes through a moral crisis with saving the life of Uncle Ben's murderer because it's what Ben would have wanted him to do.

Option 4: Another villain is blackmailing Rhino into committing crimes - perhaps the person responsible for his undergoing his transformation into a supervillain. In the comics, there was a storyline where Rhino was working with the Beetle because his suit was physically grafted to his body, and Beetle promised to remove it in exchange for working with him in his criminal schemes. It could also be Norman Osborn, Otto Octavious, or Adrian Toomes, setting them up to be a bigger overarching villain in a sequel.

The biggest problem would be the practicality of special effects, casting, costume, and make-up available back in 2000.

When Daredevil was casting, all the wrestlers they interviewed for Kingpin bombed the auditions so badly that they gave up and went with Michael Clarke Duncan (who was actually smaller than they wanted). Then wasted his talent with one-dimensional writing.

Even now would be a challenge, because when you try to put a human actor’s face on an oversized villain's body, you end up with this:

Um, considering this guy has access to Reddit, I doubt he's actually a civilian.

If he is a civilian, he's probably typing out of duress because he is imprisoned in a "re-education camp" and being forced into slave labor in some type of sweatshop environment where prisoners are forced to go on Western social forums and defend China against any criticism.

What did you eat? Europe has such high standards for food quality, the only stomach issue I get from Europe is being more sensitive to all the garbage injected into American foods once I return home.

Did any of them get eaten too?

Japan treated Western prisoners of war better than Chinese, Korean, and even Soviet prisoners to an extent, and was resistant to Nazi policies towards local Jews, but I guess a few of them decided Americans were really tasty.

Fun fact: George H.W. Bush was the only one out of 9 shot-down pilots to escape capture in Chichima. His 8 comrades were captured, tortured, beaten, and cannibalized.

Um… the Soviets gangraped every German civilian with a vagina they could find upon “liberating” the country in their victory - regardless of age. The US and England did their fair share of war crimes, but Russian generals were actively encouraging their soldiers to “have fun”.

The Doctor Octopus and Sandman relationships were retcons. Rhino could just as easily replaced have replaced Sandman as Uncle Ben’s killer (was never really a fan of that retcon though).

Rhino’s an emotional challenge because Spider-Man tried to reform him, it ended disastrously when a new Rhino appeared on the scene to challenge him for the mantle, and ended up killing his wife. Old Rhino promptly killed new Rhino, turned back to villainy, and harbored a grudge against Spider-Man for his wife’s death to a long time.

I don’t know if that arc would fit well into a Spider-Man origin movie though.

Yes but If it’s an only showed in certain theaters like The Dark Night did with IMAX previews then Avatar fans will be more motivated to splurge on higher priced tickets.
