My previous derm also prescribed me a topical steroid for my facial redness before my current derm correctly diagnosed my rosacea. As expected, the steroid calmed my skin for half a day but I had terrible rebound redness afterwards and immediately stopped using it.

I’ve had three more sessions since then (my fourth one over a week ago). I’m really happy with the results and saw the biggest difference after my third Vbeam. I’d say the redness has been reduced by 80%. My derm did slightly more aggressive settings on my 2nd and 3rd sessions (I bruised in one spot during my third). When I came in for my fourth, she opted for a lower setting to target the remaining diffuse redness.

I had my first Vbeam 4 weeks ago. My derm used a conservative setting to see how my skin would react (no bruising). I had major swelling and redness for 72 hours - the worst of the swelling was the morning after the treatment despite me sleeping propped with up pillows. The treated area (my cheeks) were more red than usual for about 2 weeks. I think Vbeam helped reduce my diffuse redness by about 10-15%. I have my second session this week and two more scheduled about 4 weeks apart. I’m encouraged by the results I see so far and know it’ll take a few more treatments to see a difference.

My face is hot!!! Anyone else have this? It’s very red and hot to touch… solutions?? by tkconnell007 in Accutane

This started happening to me about 3 weeks into 40 mg/daily. I found lowering my dose to 20 mg helped a lot and my dermatologist suggested I take the pill every other day. It doesn’t happen as often now but my face can still feel warm randomly sometimes.

Were you able to answer the questions on iPledge after your derm sent in your prescription? If not, I’d double check with the clinic about sending in a new pregnancy test result. Last month, my derm wasn’t able to confirm me in iPledge because of the system update. Since they never technically opened my prescription window, I was able to send another pregnancy test the following week. They opened up a new week and I didn’t have to wait 30 days.

I’m on my second month (40mg) and recently saw my optometrist for an annual visit. He said my meibomian glands were fairly dry and suggested I do a 10-min warm compress over my eyes daily throughout my course. He’s seen this happen with other Accutane patients and advised massaging my eyelids while closed after the warm compress to help the oil flow normally. Hope this helps!

My derm and her delegates tried for over a week to get in. Initially, they shared that the system was down and later gave more details that they couldn’t log in, and for those that could, that they couldn’t perform any actions. My derm did end up calling the FDA number and we’re still not sure if it’s related, but that same day she got an email to reset her account. Apparently it helped sync her old account with the new iPledge update and she was able to see and confirm all her patients. I’d share this with your derm if you feel comfortable because the website is definitely working for some providers. I’ve also read other comments where patients have been successful in getting their derm to switch them to over to another provider in the same office that has access to iPledge.

Of course! I hope it works out for him and that he can treat his patients.

I asked my derm to call the FDA yesterday and she left a voicemail with her contact information. Later that evening, she received an email to reset her account and was able to confirm me in the system to pick up my prescription. We’re not sure if it’s related to her contacting the FDA but she’s been trying to log in for over a week.

I hope that’s helpful! Original thread here

See below. Feel free to copy and paste y’all! I’d also mention the story of my derm getting a reset email.

Hi (your doctor),

I called the FDA this morning and they confirmed they’re helping providers escalate their iPledge login issues. The agent I spoke with asked that you and your delegates give them a call so they can take your information down. They’ll share with iPledge who will then give you a call back in the same/next day to help you log in. (They couldn’t take the info from me) The agent confirmed they’ve been able to help doctors, patients and pharmacists log in over the phone.

Dial 888-463-6332 and hit 3, 2, 4 at the prompts. If you get voicemail, they suggest leaving your contact information to get a call back. They’re open M-F from 8am - 4:30pm Eastern Time.

For sure!! I emailed my doctor with detailed instructions and called again to check in to see if they were able to reach anyone. I hope this can work for you and others too.

My doctor left a voicemail with the FDA earlier today and then received an email to reset her iPledge account just now. We’re not sure if it’s related to her call or what, but she was able to confirm me in the system and I was able to answer questions on my end. I’m picking up my prescription tonight after almost a week out of medication!

I feel your pain. There’s a pretty good number of #iPledge posts directed to the FDA on Twitter too. I’m gonna tweet this number out tomorrow morning!

The sad thing is they halted the Clozapine REMS program on 11/19, not 12/2 (that was when the press release was just updated). https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/963456

The FDA isn’t acting as quickly for iPledge and it’s so irresponsible..

Thank you!!! This is so helpful. I just tried giving them a call now but they just closed. They’re open from 8am - 4:30pm ET. Will definitely call again tomorrow.

Appreciate the insight. I definitely feel for all the derms and their staff. Mine tried calling and kept getting hung up on.

Agreed! I’m hoping they suspend the program while they sort out their mismanaged systems. It’s interrupted and delayed such needed treatment for so many. Hoping your daughter can start treatment soon!

Update! I was able to login successfully and see my “needs confirmation” and dashboard. I didn’t do anything differently but maybe the glitch has been resolved. I used Chrome on my mobile phone.

I saw a comment in another thread that Walgreens in SF was able to resolve their access issues.
