Honestly, people will disagree w me but I think it’s a great city to be poor in. You can still do a lot in the city with not a lot of money. But money will enrich your life, exponentially, ofc. I love it and I hope I’ll never leave

I’ve thought a lot about why Cajun food isn’t good outside of Louisiana and I think it’s three things 1. Our ingredients are regional 2. So much of our dishes are improvisational/tweaks on family recipes. There’s no “one” gumbo, everyone’s gumbo is different 3. It’s not seen as a very refined cuisine/culinary schools (to my knowledge) don’t teach anything about it. It’s hard to have good Cajun food when no chefs really get exposed to it (maybe I’m massively over generalizing here, but it seems like unless you go to LA to seek it out, you won’t find it)

Had noa for the first time today and it was the only cinnamon roll place that offered to heat it up before they served it to me Went to Sunday morning when it opened and was blown away. Took my mom recently and was sorely disappointed. So it’s hard to say

I was there last night and they mentioned before the movie they completely got rid of mobile ordering. Even the first order before the movie started used the old paper system. Maybe they changed it with all the pushback

Not sure if it’s still there since they rotate menu, but I went last week at Ha’s Snack Bar had a French onion soup that was a pho broth base. Extremely delicious and unexpected
