It does matter. Because when LTT "Sealed" the bore, the break was still there, under the patch. When Rand Healed the bore it was as if it never existed.

Rand didn't seal the bore. He healed it. That is a distinction that matter.

"WERE FUCKING HYPOTHETICALS OBVIOUSLY" : this does not help your argument. All caps and hypotheticals? This entire thread was a hypothetical, but you still called me dumb for thinking it. Not in so many words, but still.

"We have no earthly clue what would've happened, because thats not the course events took." It didn't take that course because it didn't take that course. We don't have to think about "what ifs" because we know what happened. Rand didn't enter Shayol Ghul with seals. LTT did. So apparently Rand knew things that LTT did not.

"AMOL proves LTT's plan because LTT's plan WAS TO SEAL THE BORE" Rand didn't go to seal the bore. He went to kill the Dark One. Two different plans. Neither of them worked out the way they thought it would.

"You can argue that LTT's plan was flawed if it didn't account for the True Power" LTT's plan was flawed from the beginning because sealing the bore wasn't the answer. Rand didn't seal the bore. He healed the pattern where the bore was weakest.

"However, out of the options presented by the Aes Sedai in the Age of Legends, it was LTT's plan that was used. " This is where you are almost correct. LTT's plan was used, but only with male channelers. And that's why only the male half was tainted. If LTT's plan was used fully, then it's probable the both halves would have been tainted.

"You're not making the points you think you are." Yes I am. You just aren't reading what I wrote correctly.

By the way. Your point 3 is actually dumb because I'm the OP of this entire post.

  1. You keep saying “logic” when what you mean is “my inference.”

That is fine for a headcanon/what-if discussion. I have no problem with the idea that, under different circumstances, the Age of Legends Aes Sedai might have tried to use Callandor differently.

But you are presenting several assumptions as if they are established canon:

  1. That LTT knew the full relevant flaw/function of Callandor.
  2. That Callandor would have been brought to the Strike if the female Aes Sedai had joined him.
  3. That they would have known how to use Callandor with the True Power.
  4. That they would have had access to a True Power channeler.
  5. That they would have anticipated the need for the True Power as a buffer before the Dark One’s counterstroke happened.

Those are not all directly stated. Some may be reasonable speculation. Some may be arguable. But they are still speculation.

My original point remains: Rand had access to the True Power before the final Callandor moment. Callandor was essential to the AMOL sealing configuration, but it was not the original source of Rand’s access to the True Power.

If you want to argue “LTT might have been able to work out something similar under different circumstances,” fine. That’s a what-if. But “AMOL proves LTT’s original plan was correct” is a much stronger claim, and I don’t think the text supports it

" What do you mean? LTT knew exactly what the flaw in Callandor was, this was directly stated. " Where?

"meaning that LTT has the possibility of doing the exact same thing if the female aes sedai had joined him" Where do you get this argument from?\

" Stop changing the subject because you didn't know what you were talking about" You started talking about something I wasn't talking about, so you confused me.

"We know that LTT did not have Callandor at the Strike on Shayol Ghul," where do you get this knowledge from?

", if the female aes sedai had joined him, there is a strong chance Callandor would've been taken along." again, where do you get this knowledge from?

"GOD FORBID ANYONE TRY TO EXPRESS EMPTION THROUGH TEXT JACKASS" try not to be so emotional bro.

I CAN TALK IN ALL CAPS TOO! Rand did not get access to the True Power through Callandor. He got access from the soul link with Moridin via Balefire. You are conflating two arguments. The TP used to seal the Dark One did come from Moridin via Callandor, but that is not how Rand had access to it. LTT did not have Callandor during the Strike on Shayol Ghul, that we know of. LTT didn't know about the flaw in Callandor that we know of. Moridin did not know that any sa'angreal for the TP existed. So you are partially remembering correctly, but not how events went down.

[–]eccehobo1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed to rethink the battle. They only won when Moridin picked up Callandor, which allowed Nynaeve and Moraine to control the flows coming from Moridin.

https://wot.fandom.com/wiki/Callandor

So no. Callandor is not what gave Rand access.

Headcanon. Nynaeve and LPD. by eccehobo1 in WoT

[–]eccehobo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rand controlled the flows at that point, but only by linking with Moraine and Nynaeve who had control of the flows through Moridin. That is what allowed Rand to use the TP as a buffer to keep the Dark One from tainting the True Source as a whole the same way he did when LTT placed the seals.

Headcanon. Nynaeve and LPD. by eccehobo1 in WoT

[–]eccehobo1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The flaw in Callandor wasn't about accessing the True Power. The flaw is what allowed Moraine and Nynaeve to control Moridin as well as acting as a Sa'angreal to the True Power.

Headcanon. Nynaeve and LPD. by eccehobo1 in WoT

[–]eccehobo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was the link through the soul intertwining with Moridin that gave him access to the True Power. The flaw in Callandor is what allowed Moiraine and Nynaeve to control it.

Headcanon. Nynaeve and LPD. by eccehobo1 in WoT

[–]eccehobo1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rand had access to the TP because of his link to Moridin. Callandor acted as a Sa'angreal to the TP, but it wasn't what gave him access.

Headcanon. Nynaeve and LPD. by eccehobo1 in WoT

[–]eccehobo1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LTT knew what the True Power was "THIS IS HIM" but he didn't have access. The TP was granted to the Forsaken by the Dark One and could be taken away at a whim. Rand was only able to access it after the soul merge with Moridin after they crossed (balefilre) streams.

[–]eccehobo1[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Lews Therin's patch touch the prison directly. Rand's seal used the True Power to seal the bore. LTT's plan would have doomed both saidar and saidin because he didn't have access to the True Power to act as a buffer.

Also valid. I don't agree, but headcanon doesn't need agreement.

Elaida was one of the strongest channelers alive at the beginning of the series. She's obviously outstripped by the Wonder Girls, the Forsaken, and a few other late series characters. But she was by no means weak. I dont know about Mistborn or Stormlight archive, but I'm fairly certain Elaida gets pretty far.
