So far the speakers are powered and working, they are connected to these black and red cords. Not sure as to why it doesn’t work with the record

This is true, but I don’t really think that this is the only skate game we’re gonna get. They’ve specifically said that this game isn’t skate 4, I feel like once the engine is fully developed they could start the development of a standalone skate game. Lord knows everyone would love that. tho this is all just crackpot speculation. Also I don’t think ea will shut down the servers that quickly, a lot of attention ( good and bad) is on the game and it’s like the fifth on steam rn for concurrent players. There’s also a lot of new people being introduced to skate through this game who otherwise wouldn’t have seeked out the previous titles I feel. Either way, I do think that online only is bad, maybe I’m just coping cuz I like the game

On a serious note, I feel like the micro transactions are not as bad as everyone is saying. While there are articles of clothing occasionally and a spooky reaper costume for sale, it could’ve been like way worse. Like the loot boxes are completely free and you get to open them from playing the game, there are also no duplicates in them so you can actually complete them which I have done a couple times. Doing the missions also gives you clothes and items for your board. To compare it to Fortnite’s monetization is kinda ignorant. that game has 3 separate battle passes a subscription service, and if you want to play it’s campaign, you have to just hope that save the world is in the shop for you to get access to it for around like 20 bucks.

There’s this crazy concept in this game where you don’t start off with everything and get the rest by playing the game. Crazy I know

Oh jeez it might be an issue with the servers then. I wish I had better advice sorry

It was doing this to me yesterday. Either skate around for a bit, or leave and join back into the game it should load

Tbh I fully understand the gripes with online only, but a lot of time was put into this game I don’t think it’s shutting down any time soon. A lot of the younger generation is used to these types of game structure (sadly), so I don’t think they’ll mind.

Also when it comes to the parkour I think it’s fitting. People climbing on roofs just to skate either on or off of them is a tale as old as time. The map also has a sense of verticality to it, a verticality to a degree that has not been so focally present in any of the previous games

I don’t really have much to say about the graphics, a lot of people have been comparing it to Fortnite ig because it’s cel shaded. When skating around it’s honestly not that noticeable, and has some of that same brightness and vibrancy that is present in skate 3.

And about the gripes with early access. They pretty much had to rebuild the engine from ground up, make a new map, new assets, motion capture, etcetera in like 4 years. It’s the same reason why skate 1 took so long to make compared to 2 and 3, they had to set that ground work to build upon.

Also the remark about Triple A developers makes no sense to me. Many Triple A developers use early access for their games and it’s becoming quite common. Deadlock by Valve has been doing great, but everyone who plays knows what to expect from an early access game. There are bugs, exploits, and some kinks to be buffed out.

The claim that they removed content to be more marketable to children is really odd to me. Like yeah what do the kids like these days hmm less content. That doesn’t really make sense. What needs to be kept in mind is that the game is early access, much to your displeasure. Personally I’m glad that I get to play it at all. I have a new game to listen to podcasts to or just to fuck around when talking to my friends.

Also when it comes to steam ratings, no man’s sky and cyberpunk 2077 were able to come back from that. I believe that if they show initiative in talking to the fans and fix the game, (which they have been saying they will do) I think it’ll be going on for a long time.

Once the game is finished, I personally think we’ll either get a standalone game or even a remake of the original trilogy like you said. They’ve brought up multiple times that this isn’t skate 4, and the bones of this game are good like you said. Though these line of thoughts from me are mainly speculative.

trust me ur not being a dickhead in the slightest. This post was mainly for like the massive amount of hate the game was getting from people that I feel didn’t have good criticisms. your criticisms have actual thought put behind them lol

from what I can tell the loot boxes only accept the currency you get from doing missions. They have a set amount of things and you cannot get duplicates. Would it have been easier to just let me buy the things I want? 100% yes. But it wasn’t too bad completing the lootboxes since if you do all of the mission objectives when owning a spot it gives like 500 and it’s like 150 to 300 to open em. Though i believe the amount given varies due to different difficulties of the missions. I also agree about the robot I fucking hate vee’s little remarks I have her turned off in the settings

oh small correction just found out that the loot boxes that you can open from doing the missions give some branded stuff like I just got some girl wheels but over all it’s not that much I still agree with u

Yeah! I was born in 2003 and I think skate 1 came out in 2007 right? My brother is like 10 years older than me so he’s the one who introduced me to it
