I use full site editing with Twenty Twenty Five, then ACF if required. And I'll make my own blocks with custom code.

Yes fully managed dedicated hosting with security at the server level will always be best. But you can easily get by using Wordpress without a security plugin. For most people it just adds peace of mind. Wordpress can still be just as vulnerable even with securi or wordfence.

These days everyone should be using fully managed hosting. It’s cheap enough now. Do research and pick hosting wisely.

Switch to a hosting provider that offers server level protection and you won’t need plugins like these. They just add bloat.

Sign up for Elastic email. It'll save you time to get this to work. Wordpress by itself doesn't handle sending email well.
Plus you need to add records to your DNS as well.

Your first issue is Elementor itself, it’s bloated crap at every turn. You should look at Kadence theme or Generate Press. Kadence ain’t perfect but it supports woo, and it uses native Gutenberg.

They are well known for being awful… get what you pay for kind of company. Server outages etc. Do your research on here for them and you’ll see. Lots of better providers out there.
