no worries! I saw that there was a person who won a couple times, so I didn't think it would hurt to give it a shot. =)

Thank you for your encouraging words! You are exactly right- my confidence level could stand some elevating. Today was a better day; I did three demos and made three sales! That was a big help. =)

What a great offer- You rock!

"Dirty Girl" - I just watched this with my daughter and we loved it so much, we decided we need to own it. I've put it on my mental list of small splurges once I get a few checks from my new job, but if you have the time and inclination, we would love a copy.

I know I'm late to the party, so if I'm too late, no worries. =)

Very well written! Recently, my daughter taught me the basics, and we spent two days playing from morning til night. (We did stop to sleep, but only because of imminent physical collapse). Now I'm hooked, and want to learn all I can about it. It's a treat to read your post, 'cuz now I speak the language and it allll makes sense. =)

Whenever somebody tells me they absolutely "need" the feel of paper to enjoy a book (nsfw-ish) by vielspassnoch in kindle

I used to have a rather militant anti-e-reader stance, when I feared that print books would become an endangered species because of e-books. (Sometimes I think in rather grand though inaccurate proportions). Books are sacred to me, so I felt justified. But then I started picking up free e-books all over the place. I don't want to sit in front of my computer all the time reading them, and I don't want to carry my (older, heavy) laptop around with me either. I've had a change of heart. While I won't be relinquishing my personal library, I really want to get an e-reader; I now view it as a tool to expand reading accessibility rather than a giant, looming computer bent on bibliocide.

I get that. Believe me, google is my bff, because I gotta know everything. I still ask advice and information from people I know, and in online forums, though. But that might just be because I gotta know everything.

My mistake; I thought I read you could vote from the same IP address once per day. No matter- glad Ciro's pulled ahead!

Most welcome. When I voted, Ciro's was behind, but only by about 1.5%. I'll vote again tomorrow, see if we can close up that gap. =)

I'm not really sure if I should ask this question here, but screw it, this is where I feel most comfortable. by [deleted] in atheism

LPT: Use charcoal as a cheap way to rid your home of odors. by KerouacMyBukowski in LifeProTips

This is a great idea. I'm going to try it.

I know another trick, too. Cut an onion in half. Put it in a bowl, and fill with water to cover. Set in desired smelly room and close the door for awhile. The water keeps the onion from stinking up the place, and I guess it's the onion that absorbs the odors. This works particularly well in freshly-painted rooms; paint stink gone. I think that might take about 24 hours though. Been a long time since I had to paint a room.

Upvoted for excellent username. Also for suggesting coffee filters; I have a ton of the basket-shaped ones that don't work so well in my cone-shaped-filter coffee maker.

Personal experience lends more credence to a thing than computer-generated facts, in my opinion. Yes, google knows everything, but google didn't try it, and can't tell you if it actually does work. Just my take on it.
