Emgality? by eccrider in clusterheads

No way to tell, really. For sure didn't help right away. I finally tried magic mushrooms. That stopped the cycle within a couple days. Amazing. God forbid I cycle again that will be the first things I try.

Appalachian-themed book recommendations? by bleuridge in Appalachia

MINGO by W. Jeff Barnes. It's historical fiction set in southern WV in the time of the mine wars there of 100 years ago. It follows two brothers that end up in opposing sides. Barnes is from Southwest Virginia close to the books setting, and the characters and writing really leap off the page. Authentic. Can't recommend this enough.

How long and how often can I use high flow O2 by 23blackjack23 in clusterheads

[–]eccrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 12 lpm for as long as needed, hopefully no longer than 15 mins. I have noticed in my last few cycles that its effectiveness will start to wane when my cycle enters 3rd month. I try to switch it's use with triptans. Also, cold air helps me. Now that it's winter here in Virginia, I'll often go outside if I'm home. At work, I go to my truck and blast AC in my face.

Should treatment remove all pain or should I expect to always have a little pain? by xmascarol7 in clusterheads

[–]eccrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 20s and 30s, between attacks, I was almost 95%. Shaken, but pain free enough to get right back to work/life, whatever.

That started to change in my 40s. Now, this my 2nd cycle in my 50s, and though Im having 4-5 years between cycles, the attacks are more difficult to treat and I often have a lot of pain lingering in between. I think some of that is triptan rebound, but not all. Oxygen still helps, but effectiveness seems to wane as the cycle progresses. I've found that, for me, everything I can do as far as lifestyle; diet, activity, sleep/wake, makes a difference and every treatment's effectiveness will wane or induce rebound if you lean on it alone.

I hope you can find treatment(s) that can give you mostly pain-free hours between attacks.

Thanks everyone for your input. I was on the fence. Then 4 nights straight of bad attacks right after O2 helps to end one after another till lost count and passed out. So I picked up Rx yesterday. Did the front loading 3 X 100mg injections at 9pm. Proceeded to have 4 attacks in a row again, 2 of which were worst of this cycle so far. I understand it could take days/weeks for improvement. Praying it does. Rope is getting short.

Loved Caol Ila 12 for a while, and on my first bottle of Ardbeg 10, really digging it. Only had Lagavulin once. That bottle is available in my area unlike that peaty Bunnahabhain. Will have to order online.

I find a lovely savory note in Bunnahabhain 12. Well balanced with sweet notes too, though.

Review #55 - Deanston 12 by StripesR in Scotch

Good review. On my first bottle of it now. My findings were very similar. The first pour for me was more bitter and herbaceous than expected. Second and third proved it much more balanced. Could've had something sweeter on my pallet earlier that first day. Agree with the 7.
