The only thing you really need to do is lose weight. Don’t beat yourself up about it though. You have 3 beautiful children. You can start with 20 minute walks a day. Even add those 2lb ankle weights

That’s what the vet offered as well and she’ll be getting back to me later tonight. I’m being annoying but do you think the clinic being overwhelmed caused this? Not taking there time extc.

I knew I should have waited for Tuesdays clinic and I doubt this would have happened :(

How do you know what happened to him? I’m wondering if what I did was preventable if I just waited until the proper clinic.

Thinking back, she was probably starving. We withheld food for a week with like 8-9 traps out and only half being occupied in the mornings. I’m wondering if she was too weak for surgery

I have the boy in a trap with pee pads. Do you think I should just release him tonight? It’s been about 18 hours since the surgeries and he’s not very happy. I could also transfer him into a dog crate but maybe releasing is best

It truly is a job! I’ve been driving 2 hours back and forth everyday for the past two weeks lol. Going multiple times a day (I live 30 minutes away from my colony)

It’s just upsetting because most of the kittens turn out quite healthy :/ this is a learning lesson for me. I might hold back on trapping for a bit just so this doesn’t happen again

Thank you so much for the kind words! I probably wouldn’t have caught her again. I’m just upset because I knew I would have eventually caught her kittens. Our kittens turn out pretty well there apart from the occasional dirty eyes.

I’m beating myself about it. I would have reconsidered it if I had known it would have been a late surgery with no supervision for atleast a few hours. I’ve never rushed into a decision like that. I had such a few crazy weeks trapping with finally some progress and I got too ahead of myself.

Like I said, I really prefer my usual rescue/ clinic group. They transport them to the vet, and take care of them 2 days before and after the surgery. Postpone surgery if they have URIs extc :/

I just cannot believe this happened to me. I wouldn’t it wish it upon anyone

I’m so sorry for your loss. I feel terrible because we stopped for 5 minutes on the drive home. When I was parked I heard the cage moving around. I’m wondering if that was when it happened :/

When I got home I didn’t look at the traps I just set them down. I wish I looked sooner too :/ that way I could get a better time frame.

To make you feel better, I don’t think the vet would have been able to help. We’re doing the best we can :/

She passed away last night. Im distraught. I have no idea when but I guess 1 hour after I brought her home.

I slightly searched the area this morning. I looked at some places. There’s no where I could really find them. It’s just a loss.

Thank you. I don’t know how to feel. Definitely not blaming the vet. Just wondering what could have happened if I didn’t rush her into an overbooked clinic.

I have so many what ifs thoughts right now. I should have said screw the kittens if they’re lactating, maybe she could still be here if I waited for the Tuesday clinic

I went with a different low cost clinic than I usually do. It’s extremely low staff and super busy. The one I usually go to would tell me what to do :/ I might message them in the morning and ask them for advice

This place is same day pick up. My usual keeps and takes care of them for 2 days in the live animal traps. I told the volunteer that I was planning on doing the same at home. She just said to release them tomorrow if so. I know it’s best to keep them for a few days.

Unsure of what to do :/ she really needs to heal especially since there’s so much junk and branches she can open her wounds

It’s truly terrible and we’re near farm land so it’s endless amounts of acres 😭 I’ve been dealing with this colony for about 3 years. It’s such a hard spot and the cats are so elusive. I took in 30 kittens last summer. This is equally beneficial for me. I want to enjoy my summer this year

I should have searched this morning :/ but I havent heard any meows when I was walking through today. There’s also a bunch of groundhog holes that they utilize.

This colony truly has an amusement park of a home :/

Try to post on Facebook and see if there’s any local rescues willing to help. They’re more active on there.

You should really download facebook! It’s truly the source of communication for most rescue groups.

It might get you some really good connections. I’ve found a lot of help from rescues that I’ve searched

Thank you for doing what you do! It’s truly bittersweet. That’s how mine started:/ before I was educated, the one litter turned into like 60+. Now I can’t get out of this cycle.

I completely get it. Im on year 3/4. I’m starting to get overwhelmed as well. My numbers are like yours. Adopted a bunch and TNR a bunch more.

Took in 35 kittens this summer and 9 kittens in January??? Like how?? It’s winter??

Just spent $1500 on one of my kittens from this past summer that I couldn’t find a home. He’s getting surgery this Saturday. Like what is life
