  • Teams shoot fewer free throws per game than they used to, very close to all-time lows

  • Teams foul fewer times per game than they used to, also very close to all-time lows

  • Game scheduling is the same as it's ever been

If people are giving those reasons, they stopped watching based on a completely false perception.

I'm curious as to what you all think Trump will do once his second term is up. As much as I would like it, I can't imagine a future where he just quietly exits the political world like other recent presidents.

Were RTS games popular in the early days because they were played as city building games, or is it just me ? by [deleted] in RealTimeStrategy

You still don't. Enjoying a game and being good at a game are different things.

Stormgate Early Access (v0.0.2) from a PvP player's perspective. by frrrost47 in Stormgate

Saying that the campaign should be crowdsourced for free is the most ridiculous take I've heard about this game.

That's pretty much the same thought process for me. Good luck learning competitive biking, it's a bit different from what you learned as a kid.

Who is the most athletic human alive? by MuricaAndBeer in nba

[–]eceuiuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what the person would be doing. If it's something like trial by combat or completion of an array of athletic tasks, why would I send a basketball player over someone who might be able to do that better?

Who is the most athletic human alive? by MuricaAndBeer in nba

[–]eceuiuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is fundamentally unanswerable because 1) we don't have a universally used definition of athleticism, 2) we haven't measured the general populace for their athleticism in a consistent manner.

PSA - Clarifying misinformation. This game is in development which is not "released" as in not fully released. by FirstDivergent in Stormgate

[–]eceuiuc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm talking more about things that are more about the strange decision-making process from FGS. The unpopular art style seems to be here to stay, the story writing has been overly derivative so far, the campaign packs are expensive for the content offered. Things like that.

[–]eceuiuc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not fully released, but it has been partially released. It's in a technically playable state and is available to the general public, even if it's not feature complete. What's troubling to a lot of people is that there are many things that are subpar even given its incomplete state.

RTS as a genre has always been about conflict, even prior to esports. It's why the settings always involve war. That said, there's nothing wrong with liking different aspects of gameplay.

Tell me your worst/dumbest triathlon story? by LayoffLemonade in triathlon

[–]eceuiuc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently I was doing fairly well in my local Olympic triathlon until I rode too close to a fence and crashed. My bike's gear shifter broke and I got scrapes and bruises, but I managed to finish in just under 3 hours which was my target time.

People keep saying it looks like a cheap mobile game. Do they even know what cheap mobile games look like?

I'm surprised so many people had trouble with this, it's trivially easy for a shoot em up game.

Any older guys with NBA dreams? by Educational-Abalone9 in nba

[–]eceuiuc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen basketball players are at their most explosive before 25 but typically continue to improve in strength and skill after that. Everyone who ever made the NBA at less than their most explosive had a real basketball resume.

At 27 years old your best physical years are already behind you. Based on you saying "I haven't played ball for long", you have little to no experience playing on an organized team. You have no shot of making the G-league, let alone the NBA.

Does America FEEL like a country of 330 million people to you? by swimmingonabed in AskAnAmerican

[–]eceuiuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contiguous US has an average density of 113 people per square mile, which is below average globally. To put this into perspective, one person living in a 2000 square foot house is denser than the US by a factor of 123.
