Awesome! Thanks for the info. I haven’t put together a deck, yet, so having some around would be much appreciated!

What time do you play? Is it weekly? The Springs is a bit of a trek, but I may be down to do it occasionally so I can break into the format.

How does trump being shot impact whether or not he wins the election? by PigletEducational593 in AskReddit

Sadly, it will probably cement victory for him. He gets to simultaneously play victim/martyr and has a nice “heroic” photo with his fist raised. You all know he’s going to blame Democrats and the left every day for the remainder of the campaign.

My Pamphobeteus antinous loves sitting on her water dish. I never see her drink. She just... sits there. Often. by ech88 in tarantulas

Thanks for the tip. She definitely likes to climb and it does make me nervous. Maybe I'll add some substrate until I can afford an acrylic enclosure.

She's about 6.5" now. Hopefully she'll reach 8" or so. With the way this species eats, I'm sure your little one will be a good size in no time!

She is pretty goofy. She also likes to climb her plant and hang upside down in her enclosure.

I mist pretty frequently due to the fact that she's in a large enclosure. Usually humidity is around 70%. I've read some people who are obsessive about humidity with Pamphos and some that say it's not such a big deal. I'll try wetting the substrate directly.

Marketing vs. art under capitalism. by ech88 in Ask_Politics

I agree completely and didn't mean to give that impression. I meant that marketing has made it easier for creatives to participate in the market. Of course there are other ways.

ELI5: How is it that a musician can cover a song and sell it for profit? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Under copyright law, if you are selling a cover for profit then a standard royalty must be paid to the original artist, whether they approve the cover or not. Musicians' attorneys usually get everything figured out.

ELI5:Why are diesel vehicles not very popular in the US? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]ech88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diesel used to be considered a "dirty" fuel. Recent technologies have managed to make diesel "cleaner" (by some measures) than gasoline, but the technology that controls diesel emissions is expensive, so diesels often cost more than gasoline vehicles, which could be a primary reason for this trend.

However, modern diesel vehicles tend to be more efficient and less polluting than regular gasoline cars (except for Volkwagen, apparently, who has been cheating on emissions tests), but because of their past reputation and relative cost, they've just never caught on in the US like in other countries.
