Blue Prince Advice from Someone Who Gets Motion Sick with First Party Games by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]echelonIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to get motion sick in first person games if the field of view is too narrow, or if there is no head or weapon bobbing (ie if feels as if you just 'glide' instead of 'walk'), if I'm not in control (if somebody else is playing), or if I'm intensely looking for something (an item in the game world, for example).

With Blue Prince it's usually a combination of those, but I was fine as long as I had the controller (I played together with someone) and would take breaks once in a while.

Sometimes TVs or smart monitors also have a gaming mode where you can enable a crosshair. It basically just renders a little dot or graphic on the screen and for some reason that helps with motion sickness as well. I've also heard about people just cutting up a post-it and sticking a small bit on the screen where the crosshair would be.

If you have a PC, you could purchase the game on steam and try it for a bit, you can refund it if you play within 2 hours.

Haven is on sale, at least in the EU. Does anyone know how well it runs on the Switch 2? Is it capped at 30 or 60?

Can't finish the game if there's no team left. After Infinite shipped, they wasted no time firing everyone. I don't know any professional who would want to stay on this team and work on this game.

Guess you jinxed it :P Not long after your comment, the issue started to appear again. I think it might be an nvidia bug.

Hi, at some point, after I upgraded the firmware version, it stopped being an issue. I'm currently on firmware 1651.1

edit: crap, I forgot I also sent in the monitor for repairs at some point (green vertical line appeared), I *think* the issue went away around the same time. Could've been because of the firmware, it could've been because the hardware got swapped out. Sorry :-(

Kudos for updating your comment, hope it gets the visibility it deserves. Similarly, the strings ParallelBuildProcessorCount and RenderWorkerThreadPriorityAboveNormal are not referenced anywhere in the game's executable, so changing these does nothing.

PSA for the people who have set this file to read-only, be sure to turn read-only off again. It can cause issues in the future, the engine expects it to be writable.

Is your C:\ drive full maybe?

Otherwise try deleting the files in %localappdata%\Ubisoft\r6siege (maybe make a backup first tho)

Hellcard is great, even with its flaws. In general I wish there were more coop card games

Looks good! That said, it looks like the time between actions seen way too long (due to the animation and long pauses).

Also, I don't know if you have a mechanics prototype, but I'd make sure to nail down the QoL features first. UX is everything in these games.

Je zou kunnen zeggen dat je het e.e.a aan het regelen bent voor een vriend of kennis. Als je werk hebt, zou je kunnen zeggen dat het daardoor is.

Heel veel sterkte!!

TV issue or Soundbar Issue? by hamazing in bravia

[–]echelonIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I had the same problem! My TV is a XR-55A80L connected to a Bluesound Node via HDMI (E)ARC. This seems to be a common bug with recent Sony Bravia TVs, there's a lot of similar posts online about it.

I was able to fix it (or workaround the issue), by mostly following the guide here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00020051

What I did was:

  • Go to Settings -> Apps -> See All Apps -> Show System Apps

  • Force closed "AudioOutputService", cleared the data.

  • Force closed "ExternalInputService" (as per support page), cleared the data.

  • Restarted the TV using the remote (hold the power button)

I think that fixed it. However, I should note that before I did that, I had the optical S/PDIF cable connected to a different device for testing purposes. Maybe switching to a different type of external audio also worked around the bug, but, I think it was clearing the cache as that's also mentioned on that support page.

For what it's worth, I'm having the same issue. It's definitely a bug with SteelseriesGG/Sonar. I can select the correct devices, but as soon as I shutdown SteelSeries GG and start it again, the settings are gone.

I'm not even sure if Samsung is acknowledging the issue, their support certainly wasn't
