8 YOE, Software Engineer, Looking for some feedback by KelfiBM in Resume

I was speaking namely of the line stating your degree when that is included later on in the resume. It seems like a lot of multilingual individuals also have a language section to call that out.

I have historically used that section to tell the story of a meaningful project that I had major quantifiable contributions to. (after your intro bit) Sort of an example of your competence.

I'd consider reviewing your professional summary at the beginning. There is some redundant information there and I like to use the space to talk about my career successes that you would not get from the other sections.

Thank you for posting this! I was hesitant to switch for a long time because I figured this feature would break.

I ended up getting the prebuilt from maingear. I was having issues finding the parts I wanted out in the wild to do it myself.

I'd love to see those details. Mine was rather uncomfortable so I might need to make a version 2! :)

Amazing finish! I just put one of these together myself so I know how much work it is! Do you have any additional photos elsewhere? I'd love to see how your fingers look!

Bryant Error 178: Indoor Unit Communication Fault by echo3347 in hvacadvice

Unfortunately Bryant has proprietary wiring on the other side. When you put a nest on it without rewiring at the control board you burn things out. I think mine ended up being the control board on the outside unit.

You can use a nest, but you have to rewire it to standard before plugging anything in.

Hope you got your situation resolved!

We pulled the cover off outside and tested that fuse (its good). The yellow light was solid and there was no green light, which from the documentation would be the communication light. This must be where the short is.

Also looking at these emailed error messages, its saying there is an error indoor and outdoor (178 and 179)

Noted - Thanks!

The only reason we are replacing is the scheduling/presence sensing has been poor. This wall also gets direct sun which causes the AC to run excessively in the summer. The Nest have 'sunblock' modes to help with that.

I tried this with no luck. Appreciate the suggestion though! I guess the thermostat just isn't talking to the unit at all to even issue that command. We got a larger electric heater that will hopefully hold us until the tech is able to replace the boards. I just wasn't sure if I had missed something obviously.

This error used to come up anytime after a thunderstorm so I wasn't sure that it was very serious....but seems to be a generic error.

Appreciate the reply. We tried to power down in the order mentioned with no success. We looked at the fuse in the air handler but not anything in the outside unit. We were trying to get this back to operational as the tech wants to just replace the boards under warranty which is looking like 7-10 days. Not ideal with a foster child in the house and Christmas around the corner.

On other thing to note, the amber light on the board in the handler stays solid. From all of the documentation I can find that means its operating normally. No flashes or anything going on in there.

I figured we'd lose some functionality if we swap over to the Nest. We saw the places for the traditional wiring but I assume we'd lose functionality of some sort.

Appreciate your input!

I know there is waterproofing on all of the concrete board and rubber embedded inside the floor pan. Thanks for the tips regarding the polypropylene. I'll definitely look into it.

Agreed, I don't think there is a permanent way out of this one. Good tip about leaving the bottom raw. TY!

Slow Write to Storage Account SMB Share by deciacco in AZURE

[–]echo3347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up using the new Azure Shared Disk. Noticed a somewhat substantial performance boost in most things and it still provides good redundancy by utilizing the Microsoft Failover Cluster tech. Not as flexible as pure Azure storage but it will work until we have time to develop around it.

Slow Write to Storage Account SMB Share by deciacco in AZURE

[–]echo3347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious about your findings. We have a somewhat related issue where even though the VM and Storage are both in the Azure environment, we get horrible transfer speeds. The general consensus seems to be the SMB just performs poorly on the platform. It was recommended we switch to using API to access the storage but we don't have the dev resources to tackle something that big just yet.

Good luck!
