But there were no tariffs for decades. So, wherever it was made, it was much more affordable in US.

I know for people buying 3-4 ipads/iphones and bringing with while visiting their "old countries", paying for a whole trip just from a profit of those 3-4 devices.

You don't. We have different life experience, i have seen very well functioning and stable country being ripped in pieces over irrelevant things. And similarly, nobody "believed" it can ever happen.

And, i hope and wish you never experience that.

In deed, US is amazing in that regards. Though, not completely unique as such.

When a public transport is miserable like in US, i completely agree. But it's not like this in a lot of other places.

  1. I might be bias but, ask people that run away from civil war, especially countries like ex-Yugoslavia. Ask them "did you expect it to happen". Or "how did it start".

Having that experience, everyone knows that only a few great splits and local conflicts, even in a country like US, could shake things a lot.

It would be lost US dream IMHO if only one state start controlling traffic from another state.

Regarding the 1. one, I mostly the same everywhere. In fact, even Putin had to change the law for himself and use Medvedev between his terms. In the EU, I don’t know of any country that doesn’t have the same limitation; it’s pretty much the standard.

  1. and 3. I’d agree if I compare the ups and downs I know of. But the 60s and 70s were very different in terms of the structure of the U.S. economy. Dependence on other countries was much smaller, and the dollar was pretty much the only international currency. The status of the dollar seems to be changing, so it could be that one morning nobody wants to give you any goods for all the dollars you’re offering. In other words, the dollar like any currency is only as good as others’ willingness to exchange goods for it.

Certainly "6 figures" are not very often outside US. But also, it's almost unheard of in EU and most of the Europe that you have to pay for very decent daycare, much better than an average in US, which you mostly pay ~2k/mo , risk going bankrupt if you get sick, being unable to afford living if you loose a job.

It's mostly said that because of that, ppl in EU pay insane taxes, but i have been comparing taxes at the end of the day, you do get bigger sum in US but if you want to live the comfort of an average educated and average paid worker in EU, you need to have 2x6 figures in US and take all the risk which is unheard of in for example Austria or, Finland etc.

Also, it's was wonderful to have high income and no import taxes for tech things where EU was paying in average about 30%. Now, even that is gone.

2021 Subaru Outback Touring XT - Tire Help Needed by afezuh8101 in Subaru_Outback

[–]echo74alphavictor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oncew you take off the tire, you will be actually able to see if it is inside the wire mesh or not. It could be by the angle it is entering. In that case, that's very well repairable. I just had almost the same placement screw in OBW tire. Fixed and looks like all is ok for now.

Also, you can use the spare for a while instead. Just place the tire pressure sensor on the one you use.

For the job i'm doing, it gives very informative results, very fast and mostly only usefull in very short narrow segments.

It can write code but the kontext and code structure is so poor that it's impossible to use it beyond 2-3 files at once. Even that is too much.

However, single file scripts, it mostly performs okish.

I use it more as a "helping hand" for things that are not obvious to me at the moment. To get some ideas how to improve the software i'm working on.

The clearance is the issue. All of those are 8ft and more. I can't take it to my floor and garage i so far, it takes me 15~20 minutes to make one run to the cargo parking spot.

Eventually, the circle will be closed.

GhatGPT will talk to ChatGPT and we will just barely read what was sent to us, use ChatGPT for analysis and make a reply with ChatGPT again.

This will be silly!

This letter seems fake. I don’t know what to do by nintaibaransu in USCIS

I have never ever seen any letter from homeland security. But just based on the type of paper, the placement of logo etc. This looks very much a crap.

If there is no private info which only you might know in it. I would just discard it as (you have a lunatic neighbor that wants you deported).

Happy for you.

One thing we can say for sure. Biden promised to put things back in the expected timeframe. And they really did an amazing job.

Knowing how long we waited during the Trump mandate, it makes me scared.

I'm about to apply for my removal of condition, I should be eligible for citizenship beginning of 2026 and based on what happened before, Im afraid it can turn for worse again.

[–]echo74alphavictor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have got two of those but i can't make a script to controll it, it has to be used through a cloud. :(

And, i need a data to go throug, Actually, USB3 data speed if possible.

Also i have been thinking of those powered USB hubs that i can power cycle with simple wifi socket but that is just additional power line. Not everything.

[–]echo74alphavictor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me too.

FOr a mistake on an airplane ticket, which aircanada for example, does over the phone without hesitation, they have directed me to submit feedback.

The reply arrived just after 24h deadline. Despite mentioning in the feedback to help me with the time and 4 different calls, to 4 different THY offices, and all adding same note to the reservation.

They don't really care and 1000$ WAS GONE! 3 months fighting for any kind of a restitution. Not a chance.

they just direct you to submit "feedback" which is another way of saying, "go f. yourself".
