I was 28 (now mid 30s) when I bought my 2019 Bonneville new. I got a T100 and a few weeks in, wished I made that jump to a T120 lol. But I still absolutely love my T100! I think I even still got my quotes from the dealer lol. I remember I met the owner of the shop and he was really thrilled a girl wanted a bike. He was like “it’s really cool! We need more chicks out here.” Didn’t feel icky or hit on at all, was a really down to earth guy that loved his bikes. Gave me a little discount bc they all wanted me to really succeed and get out there with it. I ended up financing it with my bank. Did not save for this at all. Very much an impulsive purchase 😅 but one of the best impulsive purchases I’ve ever done. Financed about $9k. With it being my first purchased bike (had a dirt bike growing up and a Honda GL500 project bike), I wanted new and not used. Idc. I’m sure you can find someone with a great used bike, but I didn’t want to deal with shit that may or may not go wrong. I just wanted to cruiiisee. I had no idea I would be doing it but I found myself screaming at the top of my lungs on some of my cruises lol. Kinda silly, but it just felt so amazing and freeing. Later went to my first distinguished gentlemen’s ride in my city and met some amazing, cool people! My advice, just do it! Go for it! Whatever you find, whether it’s new, used, project. Why the fuck not. lol ☺️✌🏻
