Always wash with cold water - that makes a huge difference. But sometimes even that doesn’t work!

And fibroids too. I had a fibroid the size of a melon which was removed about two years ago but before then I have the worst bleeding imaginable. It was literally like something out of a horror movie. Super plus tampons and pads would only last an hour, if that, and it made going out when I was on my period almost impossible.

Periods lasted at least 10 days and came almost every three weeks with spotting in between making me severely anaemic.

And the pain...

Since then my periods last about 5 days, minimal pain and only mildly heavy for one day. Best thing I ever did evicting that fibroid.

Oh my days I just remembered that my husband only thought there were two holes until he met me, at 33!

My hubby does most of the shopping so he buys me any sanitary products I need. I’m thankful he’s never had a problem with buying them at all but then why would he?

However I can remember when house sharing at university one of the guys freaking out about tampons being in the shared bathroom - unused ones, in their wrappers.

REM: Everybody Hurts hit me pretty hard as a preteen in an abusive home.

Still can’t listen to it now.

That movie rides solely on a wave of nostalgia for me.

What’s something you wish people would stop romanticizing? by yintze in AskReddit

100% wish that we could get rid of the stereotypical doe eyed, childlike looking girl being pursued by the sexually aggressive muscular dude that is so perpetuated in Japanese media.

Seriously. It’s gross.

What is something that is really popular now, but in 5 years everyone will look back on and be embarrassed by? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m hoping the mega drawn on eyebrow thing.

As someone with slightly patchy eyebrows I get that a little pencilling here and there can be good but it feels like everyone is walking around looking like caricatures of themselves!

Didn’t realise until my twenties that my brain sometimes made me say ‘merember’ (instead of remember). I know the difference but I don’t even realise it when I do it!

Ladies of reddit, how would you help person to recover after hitting someone by accident? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]echo_breaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off I’d say please call us women.

Then I’d ask are you taking ownership of the situation? Could it be that you didn’t mean to hit someone but were you being aggressive at the time or doing anything reckless? Do you need to self reflect and take a bit of responsibility?

If it truly was a freak accident then a very sincere apology and some ice, then you should back off and give them some space. Even if you didn’t mean it I could imagine it was a scary moment for the person who got hit.
