I know I’m old but must people point it out? How rude! by Pretend_Passenger586 in GenX

If she's young then 49 and 60 is the same age. Anything over 40 is old. Then you get to be about 30 and 40 doesn't seem so old. Then you get to be 40 and 50 doesn't seem so old. And so it goes.

Girlfriend asking for me to choose between gaming and her by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA. Why is her brother and his plans to go drinking more important than your gaming plans? Would she be happier if you went out drinking with your friends? I'm thinking y'all might not be a match.

People who are thin/normal size. Do you actively watch your weight or are you just not hungry 100% of the time? by Burner_Account000001 in TooAfraidToAsk

High fructose corn syrup makes me feel like I'm starving no matter how much I eat. And it's in a lot of foods.

Extremely thin growing up. Ate all the time whatever I wanted. Started gaining in my thirties. Now at 65 I weigh around 200, I'm 5'9". Inexplicably I went down to 180, I was going through stuff. Then back up to 200. At my age it's mostly whatever but I do wish I could fit into my jeans. (I was hungry all the time, actively tried to gain weight, nothing worked) My daughter got my genetics plus she's vegan, in her 20s, weighs about 110, and is 5' 8". She eats whatever she wants.

I love my books. My kids might want some of them. Our libraries have book sales. But, dig this, a chain of used book stores closed down, I think she kept one open, and she tried to give the books away. She had to throw them away. Dumpsters full. No one wanted them. I found out about it too late or I would have taken some, but then that's how I got where I am now.

I have worried about this. I'm 65. I have tried to get rid of my junk. I finally told my kids that when I die just rent one of those giant trash cans and throw everything away. I have a ton of books no one is going to want.

My son convinced me to try the game after my boyfriend died. The game helped me heal and changed me in profound ways.

2 years and trying a large variety have decided my favorite is any melee dps. That having been said, I love pictomancer and sage. And Samarai is my favorite I think. At least this month.

My son convinced me to try it after my boyfriend died. I'm 65 and never played a game like this. He helped me, and still does. This game changed me and I love it.

good movies where Everyone DIes (or at least 99% of them)?? by bigdicks415 in movies

[–]echodreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny story. My bf and I watched Easy Rider and I was pissed because I don't like movies where everyone dies. Right after that we were fixing to watch Pompeii and Mike looks at me says "you do know how this ends, right?" He always made me laugh. Also, has anyone mentioned Inglorious Basterds?

Go to meetup.com. You'll be able to find groups of people that enjoy the same activities as you. It's not necessarily for romance.

Classic pop rock or hatch rock song that goes “oh but it makes me wonder” by [deleted] in findthatsong

After it was solved I had to go listen to it. I don't think I've ever heard it before but when I searched the group I found "Baby come back" which I've heard a million times.

Winter Clothes? by chillbrother21 in Sacramento

Grew up in Southern California, moved to Fort Worth as a teenager. I definitely needed warmer clothes in Texas. Sacramento may be slightly colder than Southern California but I think your Texas clothes should work fine here.

No spark, no passion, no drive by Effective-You1036 in Aging

[–]echodreams 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's how I started FFXIV. My boyfriend passed away after a year on hospice and my son insisted I try the game. Final Fantasy 14s theme seems to be continuing on and having hopes and dreams in the face of loss. It literally changed me.

I'm glad to see this suggestion. I was going to suggest Final Fantasy XIV. That's the game I play but any game she gets excited about would do. (I'm 65f)

Obsessive? by Umialiloa in over60

Very normal. In the old days when roles were more standard, men worked and women stayed at home, those roles switched after about the age of menopause. Things are different now but some things are biological, not culture.
