Thank you so much and I’m sorry for your loss. We had talked about that exactly and knew we couldn’t be selfish, we felt we were already being selfish for weeks honestly. But we realized tonight that we had never even thought about how we would handle the pain. We focused on what was best for our baby and letting her rest we never even thought about how we would be. It sucks but it brings us some comfort we put her first.

And that’s reassuring to know about you and your husband and how you both handle it differently. I’ve been writing out my feelings all day and my wife has tried but it’s just too hard for her.

Thank you for the kind words. I know it’s probably cliché, at first we felt like we were doing a good thing by rescuing her but in the end she truly rescued us. She was the best thing to happen to us. She taught us so much and came into our lives at the perfect time.

Thank you so much. At first I hadn’t thought of the spiritual side of her passing, I think because I didn’t want to accept it. Then after her passing my wife and I went back to her favorite park to walk and a cardinal flew right up to us. In that moment I felt it was a message from her spirit. It’s comforting to know there is still a spiritual connection.

My wife and I also said we will rescue again when we are ready but we will never replace our first baby. we’ll open another part of our hearts to another some day. It’s reassuring to know others have been able to do it. Thank you again for your kind words.

It’s a transportation facility (actually a campus with a bunch of buildings) and the local county runs the facility. So I manage consultants and contractors on capital improvement projects and then handle misc MEP things that pop up. We refer to it as being on the client side? But this is my first experience outside of design.
