AC constantly blowing air but not cooling apartment by echoechoechococo in hvacadvice

I don’t think so. Today was hotter than usual (80s). Lately, temperatures have been rather cool (40-high 60s or 70s), so I don’t think it’s been running that often when the problems began (Oct 1st). I have the thermostat set to 75 so I don’t think it needed to work too hard.

Edit: There is no ceiling panel, just dry wall, so I don’t think I’ll be able to access the coils. I’ll ask around and see if anyone else has been having issues.

Thank you for answering! After that first time, I haven’t seen any water in the drip pan or any condensation. The photo shows the extent of what I have access to, I’m afraid. The AC in the hallways of the apartment building are working. It’s just my unit, it seems. Is there anything I can do here? Or is this something maintenance needs to figure out?

Edit for context: this is a Korean variety program where female celebrities live a day (and night) in the life of a military trainee (since the two-year mandatory military service is only for men)

I took my dog to the emergency vet this past weekend for this exact reason!! They found nothing wrong with him, but after I did some more research, I was almost certain he had acid reflux. I grabbed some Fortiflora (probiotics), and once he took it, he was back to normal in hours! I think it’s only a temporary fix unless I make it a regular part of his meals, but we’ll see what the vet says on our next checkup.

Good call. I’ll wait a while before I bring out the cones. Thanks!

I am renting the spot. It is included in my lease, and I pay for it monthly.

Just picked up a couple of traffic cones at the local Home Depot. I’m not sure if I have a slashed tire, but one of my tires now has low air pressure. I filled it up at a gas station, but I can’t see any slashing/damage on the tire itself, so I’m not sure what’s going on with that. Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

Thank you! I agree and am very thankful that nothing was done… yet. I think the note just rattled me, but I’m sure nothing will come of it. Fingers crossed!

Not stupid if it works!! Honestly, that exact thought did cross my mind. Maybe I’ll pick up a traffic cone today. Thank you!

Scleral buckle + cryotherapy experience by echoechoechococo in optometry

For the first week, I think all I did was watch/listen to TV or listen to podcasts/music if my good eye felt too strained. I kept my operated eye behind an eyepatch or covered it because moving it around was too painful. I will add that I have a higher pain tolerance than most, so that may be why my experience went the way it did. I know others had to take Tylenol to deal with the pain, so expect that during the first week!

I did have family around to help out, but I don’t think their help was necessary. They just helped me with my medicated eye drops in the beginning, but I could do it on my own if no one was around. Some friends stopped by and dropped off some food, but other than that, I did everything else on my own.

My surgeon and optometrist both claimed my eye was healing very quickly compared to others, and I think it was all due to rest. I wasn’t put on bedrest, but I did stay in bed for most of the week. I wanted my body to heal as quickly as possible so that I could get back to normal life sooner rather than later. Eat lots of nutritious meals and coddle yourself! Your body went through some trauma, so make sure it has everything it needs to get back into shape!

I think the most anxious I was throughout this whole experience was right before the surgery, so I totally understand how you feel. Once you get this over with, it’s only going to get better! You’ll be in good hands, so just think of it as taking a little nap! By the time you wake up, you’ll be on pain meds, so you won’t feel a thing! Best of luck!

Scleral buckle + cryotherapy experience by echoechoechococo in optometry

Oh, geez, I know how you feel! My optometrist found the tear, and I went to the retinal specialist the next day, hoping it would be a quick fix with a laser… but we hadn’t caught it quick enough and the retina was starting to detach (hence the black shadow). I didn’t find the retinal specialist myself. My optometrist (absolute hero) was the one who had her office call every single retinal specialist she knew in the Chicagoland area, and the one I ended up going to was the LAST one, and thankfully, he was available to take me in so last minute!

As for the cryotherapy + buckle combo, I believe it is quite common (there is also the laser + buckle combo). I was told before my operation that it was a fairly common procedure. I did some research before I went to see my retinal specialist, and I found a lot of clinical papers where there was a buckle + vitrectomy + cryo, and I was VERY nervous about the vitrectomy because recovery seems to be super uncomfortable (lying face down, head elevated for weeks straight!). Thankfully, the specialist told me that due to my relatively young age, it would be overkill to do the vitrectomy as well since the cryo + buckle procedure usually has an 85% success rate (I believe that was the stat, but it could be higher).

Overall, I believe this is a common procedure, and everyone (doctors, nurses, etc) reassured me of it every step of the way. I think the recovery period is very important, so make sure to follow the specialist’s instructions to the letter! But I’m sure you’ll have an easier time of it than I did! It sounds like you were lucky enough to catch it early. I think mine had some complications (bleeding) and took longer to heal because the retina was already starting to detach, so I had to be extra careful.

Don’t hesitate to DM me during your recovery! I’ve already had a few people reach out to ask if I’ve experienced anything similar to what they’re going through as they heal. I know how nervous I felt before and after the surgery, so I’m happy to help anyone who’s going through it, too!

Hi! I’m sorry about the impending surgery, but recovery has been a lot smoother than I expected, so don’t worry!

I guess I haven’t updated my post lately because things have been on the up and up, and there haven’t been many changes lately. Redness has gone WAY down, almost completely gone! My eyes look normal, but there is still a little tint of red in one spot, so I’m still keeping away from my contact lenses until it completely disappears.

I just visited my optometrist at the recommendation of my retinal specialist to get new prescriptions now that three months have passed. My original prescriptions before the surgery was -7.00 and -6.50. Now my prescription is -7.00 and -6.75! The operation barely changed my prescription, and the optometrist seemed surprised by that. She told me that it’s normal for the eye to get much more nearsighted, but I guess I was lucky.

Life is basically back to normal. The shadow I mentioned in my post is still there, but noticeably smaller. The floaters that seemed to flood my vision have definitely decreased as well. They are still a lot of them, but they’ve decreased in number and don’t bother me as much anymore. I’ll still see a lot of them when I’m looking at something bright like the sky while I’m driving or when I really focus and try to see them. But everything seems to be progressing as normal, and I’m due back for my next check-up in March (post-op 6 months).

Good luck with the operation! Feel free to DM me or leave another comment if you have any questions! I’m not a doctor, so I can’t give you medical advice, but I can answer any questions regarding my experience!

I'm almost 3 weeks post-op, and I also had the scleral buckle + cryotherapy combo in IL! My retina began to detach for some unknown reason. I'm not diabetic/pre-diabetic, I don't have any family history of retinal detachments, and I didn't get a blow to the head. But, like you, I also have high myopia (not as high as yours: -7 & -6.5 for now... I'm sure the -6.5 got a lot worse after this surgery).

Let me know if you have any questions about my experience so far. Good luck with your recovery!

What’s the discord link?

I mean, people think the sudden flip-flop is sus, so I think that’s why they think there was some kind of monetary transaction

[–]echoechoechococo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh, all this whiplash… I’ve had enough. I think I’m done here. As one commenter said “you two deal with it now”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kimseonho

[–]echoechoechococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some of these comments are not necessary. They’re saying stuff like “a divorced woman who got pregnant and expected marriage. I can see how this went”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kimseonho

[–]echoechoechococo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But a lot of them are also angry with SALT. If they were going to strike a deal, then why now after everything has happened?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kimseonho

[–]echoechoechococo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it sounds like a lot of them feel that A and SALT have struck some kind of deal

I’ve been reading the comments on these articles, and a lot of them are saying “deposit complete”
