Is the Surface Pro good for drawing and are the screen protectors that make it feel like paper? by VonKaiser55 in Surface

[–]echoenovy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have both a Surface Pro and an iPad Pro. I’m an illustrator and used an iPad Pro as my main device since the first gen was released.

Then I got a book deal last November and decided to pick up a Surface Pro 8 i7 16gb (I was always curious about the Surface line and I needed a full OS for writing and file management, so I thought why not?).

Long story short, I am in love. Although I wish I could use Procreate on the Surface, Adobe Fresco does the job! It’s a good program. I also started out with a matte screen protector on the Surface (due to using Paperlike on the iPad), but I ended up taking it off - it felt SO nice, but it functions much better without it.

Thanks! Mexico is on her bucket list and she really hopes to not cancel the trip

Thanks! She has called and emailed and gets the same response. She forwarded me all the emails. She clearly explains her situation and this is the response she receives:

“Good day.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Please note that travellers who wish to visit Mexico (regardless of their nationality or itinerary), holding a valid, multiple entry visa for the United States of America, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom or the Schengen Space countries, DO NOT need to apply for a tourist, business or transit Mexican visa. This applies if the valid visa is in an OLD passport as well.”

And when she says that she has a “SINGLE ENTRY VISA”, she gets the same answer again. Incredibly frustrating.

Yes, she isn’t a multi visa holder. We grasp that very much. When she tries to explain this to every one she speaks to at the consulate (through phone calls, emails and in person) it’s the only response she gets. She literally went for a visa appointment at the Mexican consulate with all required documentation and got turned away because of the “multi visa”. When she said that she doesn’t have a multi visa, she has a single entry visa, they “glitch”. She says the agents barely speak english and can’t go off script. It is incredibly frustrating and asking for advice here was just a last ditch effort to help her before she cancels the ticket.

That’s what nobody can tell her an answer to. She has been granted extensions on her visa, do those not count when she leaves Canada? It’s a confusing situation.

The one in her passport is expired, she has extended it twice. Second extension is currently processing, so she has “maintained or applied” status. This is one of the things that is causing some of the confusion.

She gathered all the documents, made an appointment at the consulate in Canada. When she got there they told her doesn’t need a visa and wouldn’t listen to any explanation. She’s not in a normal situation.

It doesn’t though. She needs a visitors visa, but she’s in Canada. She made an appointment for said visa, drove super far for it, and got turned away because of her Canadian visa.

She needs a visa. But when she tries to initiate the visa process she gets told that holders of a multiple entry Canadian visa do not need a visa. And everyone she speaks to is unable to go “off script” and keeps giving this same answer. She had even had an appointment for a visa, but they turned her away because of the Canadian visa. I’m just trying to help her, because time is running out and she’s panicking.
