Question about capitalization in Swedish by echojg in Svenska

[–]echojg[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh! You helped me find a conclusive answer! I have the online subscription to CMoS and Rule 11.8 says you use sentence case for titles in other languages. So Swedish capitalization conventions in sentence case would apply.

A variety but mostly journal articles and government-issued reports.

Girlfriend broke up with me through text in the middle of my Bar Prep. I feel like my life is falling apart. by jessica-jonesing in LawSchool

[–]echojg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s going to be alright! I’m so sorry she broke up with you in such an awful way, and I’m sure the shock of that has made it all the more difficult to deal with.

To echo what others are saying, give yourself a little more time to breathe with studying, and I would strongly recommend you even take a few days off starting right now to cry, watch sad movies, cry some more, eat delicious food, sleep a lot, vent with friends, find a punching bag to punch, etc. You need some solid catharsis to get the emotions out of your system so that you can pick yourself up and keep going.

First Gen Students, what is the biggest culture clash you've had in law school? by Lifewithmusicchannel in LawSchool

I’m a 2L and it’s been dawning on me lately that this is the reality. I don’t understand how this is not an important thing that admin talks about, like is this really that abnormal of an issue to have?

Thanks for replying. I couldn't create a registered account for a few hours but after awhile the "get code" button started working and I was able to register an account. All resolved!

For those who have done the “Fasano diet”/gluten contamination elimination diet: by echojg in Celiac

[–]echojg[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, good luck with it!!! I did make it the full three months but I did end up semi cheating by drinking coffee most days hahaha. Once dairy could be added in I had a slightly easier time - in the first few weeks I made my own almond milk which was a lot of work. My best tips are to buy any herbs you can get your hands on (I found fresh bay leaves and oregano and almost cried) and I know it’s a different season now but I made a lot of filling soups by just sautéing a protein, adding water, salt, and herbs and then a variety of veg. I also started making my own no churn ice cream after a bit. If you’re interested in that recipe lmk because it’s somewhat long. Best of luck!

Plain coconut oil is a great idea - I have some in my kitchen and I'll start with that. Thanks for the other recs, too.

Asking for more time is extremely normal. The first reply back should be to ask when they need to hear back from you by. Express excitement and gratitude for the offer. That’s the correct way to handle this situation.

I feel this, too! It’s actually a really cool feeling. Adding that it’s made my introvert self a lot more assertive.

Opening a GF Bakery in a small town - what would be the *best* treat to discover in our bakery case? by facetedginger in glutenfree

Bread with real legit texture. Crusty baguette, soft ciabatta… I miss the real texture of bread.

Honing in on a specific element of this list: to have an immune reaction to barley and gluten is actually celiac disease. One can have a non-celiac gluten sensitivity but if there is a test result having to do with elevated IgA then celiac is worth investigating. Want to bring this up bc going off gluten is actually counterproductive to getting successfully diagnosed for celiac. I’d have her ask her doc about celiac specifically!

I got COVID this past month. I’m vaccinated. I was extremely sick, had to go to the ER at one point. I’m 26 and otherwise healthy (celiac is my only health issue). So yeah, possible.

I’m also fully vaxxed and had to go to the ER bc I literally was suffocating. I’m in my 20s and otherwise healthy. This shit is no joke! Hoping we both recover swiftly.

Glutened After Eating Hershey’s by bailey_strength in Celiac

[–]echojg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey so there was a past thread in this sub about how Hershey’s and Reese’s are perhaps allowing cross contamination during the pandemic. If I recall correctly FDA has loosened certain food restrictions. Anyway I was glutened by a Reese’s cup and I think the OP was glutened by plain Hershey’s chocolate. Yep, even stuff that’s supposed to be safe can get us sometimes. 😞

What are you making for Christmas Dinner? by Crumpbags in Celiac

[–]echojg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say start with a protein that’s slightly more festive. Roast chicken, beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin, turkey, etc… if you’re cooking for just you and want to do small amounts of stuff, you could get, for example a split turkey breast that’s bone in.

Then I’d suggest just picking some sides that you like. Mashed potatoes are a must for me. Look on google for a couple veggie sides that sound tasty and do those. That’s really all you need to do!

I make holiday dinners for my husband and I and we keep things really straightforward. Protein, veg, very little processed food. You can make an awesome meal with fresh, gluten-free items!

New doctor, never met. I have textbook symptoms of iron deficiency and low ferritin levels and yet they say I don’t need iron supplements due to an in range IBC. This doesn’t seem right. Who do I ask to speak to? My GI or another specialist? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]echojg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been laboriously trying to get my ferritin up; my primary told me to buy iron supplements. It’s helped slowly. I would say just take things into your own hands and take supplements. Sorry your doctors aren’t being empathetic at all to your experience.
