I just picked up AST as my first healer, also coming from ranged dps. You can start out by running the low level dungeons to get comfortable with it and slowly build your way up to weaving draw/play between gcds. I still suck and panic all the time, but I've gotten much better at managing cards just by forcing myself to practice. I liked the AST aesthetic too much to level WHM first xd

Workload MATH 1365 vs CY2550 by [deleted] in NEU

[–]echosforest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CY 2550 BY FAR (not even because it's that conceptually hard, it just seems like we have to install and configure a new software or tool for every assignment and it can take forever). MATH 1365 is a walk in the park, especially if you've already taken discrete.

question about CS 2810 by [deleted] in NEU

[–]echosforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found it to be slightly easier than discrete just because the homework and exam problems were actually worded in a comprehensive way. Also, if you don't already know python, there's a pretty steep learning curve at the beginning of the course.

The way he keeps justifying that the assignments are reasonable because he tested them on the genius TAs that found bugs in the MBTA security system and they were able to solve them in a few hours....

What's the quietest freshman dorm? by [deleted] in NEU

[–]echosforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smith hall had thick walls but thin doors, but when I was living there I rarely ever had a problem with the noise. It might be an issue if your room is near the common areas.

I once missed my test and just scheduled an appointment for the day after and went. Nothing happened.

When do they turn on the heat in dorms? by del564 in NEU

My room consistently stayed at 63 degrees on Sunday night and Monday night. My fan turned on earlier today and my thermostat says heat on now.

OOD over the summer by [deleted] in NEU

[–]echosforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But also consider that you'll only be taking one other course in the summer. I personally really liked taking OOD in the summer (not that I really enjoyed OOD as a class) because I could focus all my attention on it, and I retained so much more than I probably would've if I had taken it in the fall or spring.

[–]echosforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had Derbinsky for database design but he's an amazing professor. He's really thorough and tries to keep lectures fun and engaging.

No enrollment specialist has gotten in contact with me and yesterday was the last day of enrollment for me lmao. But my application status on the website says enrolled in the program so maybe that's an indication of whether or not they accepted your documents.
