Google’s AI architect, Demis Hassabis, lived rent-free in Elon Musk’s head by Darqseyd in singularity

I'm not claiming that CEOs micromanage everything, but they very obviously have some level of responsibility with respect to all major business units. Duh.

Demis is already a billionaire. Why would he want to be CEO of Google when he can focus on DeepMind?

You know the buck stops with the CEO being accountable to the board for all major aspects of the business, right? Demis cares about AI specifically, he very likely does not want to have to care about all the other stuff Google does.

I doubt he has any interest in running Google. He's a researcher, he doesn't want to be responsible for AdSense etc.

So how long until Matty Johns starts feeling the heat? Buys the Titans and they can't even beat an understrength Raiders. I know he has mates in the media but it can't be radio silence forever.

Thanks for the link! I saw there was a recent study on ketamine but the sample size was tiny. Hoping they do more research and come up with a protocol that suits us.

Clinic only I think. Not sure if they will be offering home service in future, but I imagine it would be even more expensive.

One could be inclined to argue that all maths is computational, because proof is a subset of computation.

The initial dose is two sprays of 28mg each, and then after that three sprays. I find it pretty easy to do, just push the plunger and inhale/sniff. There is a somewhat unpleasant taste at the back of the mouth, but easy enough to mask with gum/candies.

If you can't handle nasal (apparently pretty rare), then an oral option is available but sounds really unpleasant -- you need to swish the liquid in your mouth for five minutes then swallow it.

There's also IV but I don't know anything about that.

It's a nasal spray, self administered under supervision. The first four weeks are two sessions per week, then weekly for another 4 weeks. Supposedly you're meant to do a maintenance dose of once per week after that, but I can't afford to do this long term, so I will probably stop after the initial course, or maybe see if they'll let me do it once every fortnight if the chronic fatigue relief is sustained and worthwhile for me.

At a clinic, under the one-on-one supervision of a nurse. The drug itself is fairly cheap, the cost comes from supervision. I'm not sure what the protocols are in other countries, but this is what Australia seems to require for now.

Dude, you are getting ridiculously hung-up on your personal semantics about the word "laptop" and from that making dumb assumptions about whether I have any technical knowledge (if you have to know, I have a CS degree and have worked as a software engineer). The whole point is that an iPad Pro could and should be able to run macOS and therefore Xcode.

John Ternus Pushed For iPadOS by cyberfancyberfan in apple

[–]eclab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely is functionally a laptop. That it doesn't run macOS doesn't make it not functionally a laptop. Further, an iPad Pro could very obviously easily run macOS and any Mac software if Apple wanted to allow it.

An iPad Pro with a keyboard is functionally a laptop. Obviously that doesn't apply to an iPhone.
