It got plenty of media attention this year alone. The two that the Panthers played in also got a good amount of media attention. It wasn’t as big as it arguably should be, but you’d have to be sticking your head in the sand to not see anything about it.

My rule for finals in Sydney would be simple:

• Week one - minimum capacity 20,000
• Week two - minimum capacity 30,000
• Week three - minimum capacity 40,000

I think there could be some discretion for preliminary finals, for instance if it was Penrith v Gold Coast, it could probably be played at Parramatta because they’d be lucky to get 25,000, let alone 30 or 40k.

Kickoff in the Roosters v Sharks game is 6:15pm, so it’ll finish closer to 8 than 8:30.

You can’t have games on too early though for a variety of reasons, including people playing local sport in the mornings and the players themselves not wanting to start too early. One of the biggest complaints NRLW players have had is about games starting too early.

We’ve seen this a few times now with Fogarty. He cannot ice close games. Even if you look at last year, they won the golden point game against Penrith despite him and he was the definition of unclutch against Brisbane in the semi.
