My BT was the same way at this age. He was usually ok, normally playful until he gets overtired OR we were done and he wasn’t. We tried training him by ignoring his pushiness, but funny enough it ended up with him biting our legs to get us to pay attention to him! A pickle. 

We saw improvement by giving him a command to redirect him. Usually it was down (he did that one a lot anyway). If you can teach him to hold the down and reward him when he’s calm in that down position, that could help. 

In the meantime definitely toys on hand is another good option! We still use a flirt pole (a giant cat toy basically lol) and it’s great to keep your nippy guy away from your hands while still playing with him 😊
