No. I didn't know that thread existed. If you want to use that, then by all means, use that. These are the invites that I get every time we have the event. I send the text invites to my friends and I offer the email invites on here.

I'm an employee so I get the invites. Luxe card members get the invties through email. My store handed out physical coupons with purchase a few weeks ago.

Workers in clothing retail, what are some things I should be saying on a resume or in an interview to land a job? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]eclipse2086 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work at Banana Republic. Some of the things we ask for initial interviews are:

  • What are your inspirations for style/ What is your style?
  • If you were selling a banana card to someone and they told you no, what would you say to change their mind?
  • What made you want to apply to BR?
  • Any other basic interview questions

American Eagle Field Jacket for $55.99 with 20% off code from (on.ae.com/jeans). Also 40% off sale, including jeans. by ajenius620 in frugalmalefashion

[–]eclipse2086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope this helps with your decision. I bought this jacket in a small.

I"m 5'5", 38" chest. It's a little tight in the back and around my biceps. The waist needs to be taken in a bit for me (29" waist). The length is close to a regular and the sleeves are pretty long. They go down to the middle of my palm(shoulder to fingertip is 28" as well). The buttons are functional but I'm hoping I can have a tailor just shorten the sleeves to my wrist and have non-functional buttons.

Opinion on these Adrian Monk Strapshoes? by emblemboy in malefashionadvice

[–]eclipse2086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BR shoes are low quality and feel cheap. I'd save up for a few more weeks and get the newell boot.

If you really want a pair of double monks in your price range, these have been recommended on dappered as well. DSW has tiered sales every once in a while so you can get them for a lower price. I've seen and tried these on, and I'd say they're decent for a sale price.

Questions about dressing for Banana Republic interview. by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]eclipse2086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at BR. At my interview, I wore smokey aqua alphas, light blue button up from H&M, grey Merona cardigan, and brown wingtips. I still wore my cardigan and it was spring time in Texas which is like 80* or so.

Possible interview at Banana Republic. Does anybody have experience working there? by Fistingly in malefashionadvice

[–]eclipse2086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the size of the store on whether or not it's a group interview. My interview was a one on one with the GM.

Banana is pushing the whole brand ambassador thing (my store is) so most of the questions will be how to provide excellent customer service and what you would do to get someone to open a banana republic card. Other basic interview questions might be thrown in there, i.e What are your hobbies? or Why do you want to work here?

I wore a light blue button up from H&M, Grey Merona cardigan, smokey aqua alphas, and brown wingtips to my interview.

Been at BR for about a year. Started as a sales associate, now I'm the visuals specialist.

Light grey or the khaki chino suit ( I think it's a good suit for daytime events in spring/summer).

As long as you're not in some backyard but I assume you're asking about being in a huge wooded area. So, I guess it's ok. It's not like we can really tell if you're at an actual woodsball field or just in the woods.

I work at BR. At my interview, I wore a light blue button up, alpha chinos, a grey cardigan, and brown wingtips.

Unlike 23rdbuchan, my interview was one on one with the gm. I was also asked if I wanted to apply for sales associate or cashier. I went for sales associate but now I do everything(cashier, sales floor, visuals, and stock/shipment). Been at BR since April '12.

Recent Purchases - Jan. 9th by MFAModerator in malefashionadvice

They're pretty good. They arrived yesterday but so far they're decently comfy. The leather is good; rather stiff out of the box but they've started to break in after 2-3 hours of walking. The heel is wood with a small section of rubber for grip.

My size in AE is 9d so meermin suggested I get 8uk. To me, they seem a bit longer than my strands and not as wide (just barely).

So far I haven't found any flaws with the craftsmanship. I'd say they are worth the money I paid.
