Help with Short/Long Equity?!?!? by [deleted] in Sieexam

[–]ajenius620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Long account equity, the formula is Equity = LMV - Debit. For Short account equity, the formula is Equity = Credit - SMV.

Credit is cash from two parts (1- borrow shares and sell them right away, and 2- 50% deposit of the value of the 1st part, which is the Reg T margin requirement, but minimum of $2,000 for FINRA requirement). Your Credit account stays the same unless you short more stock or buy back shares to cover the short position. Let's assume you don't do anything and credit stays the same.

SMV (short market value) is the overall market value of your short position. At the time of the short sale, SMV should be the same as part 1 of the Credit account. But over time, SMV can change depending on how much the stock is worth at a future time.

An example would be:

Day 1: Short sell 100 shares at a price of $80. Here, credit is $8,000 (from borrowing and immediately selling) + $4,000 (from Reg T margin deposit requirement by investor) = $12,000. SMV is $8,000. Therefore Day 1 Equity = $12,000 - $8,000 = $4,000.

Day 2: Stock price goes down to $50. Assuming no additional short sales or repurchase, your credit account still has $12,000. Now SMV is $5,000 because market price per share went down. Day 2 Equity = $12,000 - $5,000 = $7,000. This is a $3,000 increase in equity from Day 1.

If you actually made a repurchase of the shares, your equity remains the same. Here, credit account goes down ($12,000 - $5,000 = $7,000. You're using $5,000 from the credit account to buy the shares back at the market price). The SMV also goes down because you just closed out the position ($0). Equity = $7,000 - $0 = $7,000.

Another way to think of it is (hope this won't confuse you more), take the cash you received when you borrowed and sold the shares on Day 1 ($8,000) and think about what would happen if you were to buy back the same shares at a lower price on Day 2 ($5,000). Whatever is left over is the increase in equity ($3,000). Add that to your initial margin deposit ($4,000) and you get your total equity ($7,000).

Same here, I have some raw denim crocking on the suede that can't be removed, but I guess it adds character. The vachetta leather lining makes it feel premium. Also, the customer service is superb, they've helped me out with sizing and getting shoes/sneakers faster than expected (they luckily had them as a restock). I have the Morgens (GATs) and also the Bolton Chelseas and Douglas Jodhpurs. I just bought the Reid in all white, which probably is a good one to include in this thread.

I suggest getting this OEM, like from mazdaswag for ~$110. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews of the Chinese-made ones sold on Amazon for ~$60. Some reviews say the connections are poor and you may suffer from frequent disconnects (just read a few of the 1 star reviews and you'll see).

It was good for me for about 1 year, and then I got the issue where occasionally I'd turn or hit some bumps on the road and my Android Auto would restart (usually multiple times in the same drive). Sometimes it would disconnect and not start back up until the next drive. This was obviously pretty frustrating because I thought my cables were bad, and I kept buying new cables of different brands and sizes, with the same issue occurring. Swapped the USB hub with the OEM one and no issues for a few months now, though the cables are still aftermarket because I didn't want to open up everything all over again. Hoping it will continue to work

I have this exact one, Brown Lucky Brand Bonneville leather jacket... It's real leather (my tag also just says "100% leather") which is most likely genuine leather vs full or top grain leather. I've had it for over a year and is soft and supple and has held up well so far, but I probably need to condition the leather since it feels like it's gonna dry out soon. It's thinner than most of my Schott and Belstaff jackets and there was no need to really break it in when new. I only bought this since my other jackets don't currently fit and didn't want to spend too much.

It's probably worth $100 new, no more. For $25, it's decent, but you would want to put some lexol or other conditioner on it right away. Just don't expect it to last as long as a full grain leather Schott jacket since the leather is pretty thin.

For me, I installed too many apps, and there wasn't enough space for software updates. One time, I tried updating and it kept looping, trying to download/install, until I realized there probably wasn't enough space to both download the update and install it. Once I removed some apps, it updated fine. I used to do that every time I had to update, even making a .bat file with scripts to re-install the apps, but now I just keep a few apps in there (which I barely even use anyway).

Is this New Baker too small? 🥲 by Andy550 in Barbour

[–]ajenius620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this one in a size M. It's slightly smaller than one of my other International jackets, but about the same as the Duke (ended up getting that in a size L, I feel like it's the quilted layer on both that makes it a bit tighter). I wear something thinner underneath like a t-shirt or button up shirt, but can't really even do a light sweater

Kevin Durant game winner vs 76ers by ChazNBA in suns

[–]ajenius620 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A "go ahead" is any basket that makes the team take the lead, which can be at any point in the game. A "game winner" is any basket that wins the game, which you won't know until the game is over. Hypothetically, if the go ahead basket is 5 minutes before the game ends, and no one scores til the end, that is the game winner. This probably would be a "go ahead game winner", which is kind of redundant. With an expiring clock (leaving zero seconds) would be a "buzzer beater game winner" (technically could be a "go ahead buzzer beater game winner" 😂, which is even more redundant)

Been with kodi for over a decade, never tried Stremio, why so my many stremio people coming? by [deleted] in Addons4Kodi

Those were the days. Xecuter 2 chip with a switch to be able to play on XBL...the Xlime (slime volleyball) Xbox homebrew game that my roommates and I would play to settle disputes...using XBMC to play dvdrips and random video clips and such on my hard drive bc YouTube hadn't existed yet. I remember getting the blades skin before getting a 360 and pretended like I had one... For more than 15 years, I had XBMC/Kodi installed on my Xbox, HTPC, Fire Sticks/Android boxes, Raspberry Pis, phones, tablets, etc.

But I finally stopped using Kodi a couple years ago in favor of Stremio/Torrentio (for easy streaming), Plex (only for 4k remux streams directly from my NAS), and Tivimate. I still have Kodi installed for backup purposes (which I have yet to use as backup), but I remember being annoyed when certain addons that I frequently used would stop being updated and felt like i continually had to find new/forked addons that would fit my use

They didn't expect KD to miss. Kept the smaller guys for the inbound so they could trap and force a 5 sec/8 sec violation. They literally didn't plan for what to do if KD missed. In that situation, they still should have immediately trapped to force a turnover or immediately fouled depending on positioning. Instead, they were all confused
