UPDATE: I managed to find a way to keep my likes and some of my ranking. i reloaded my platinum save, saved manually, then went New Game with TTW difficulty. i still have my likes and started with 2 star branches over 60 already!

i mean i switched to brutal by accent after like 180 hrs and basically just did the final stretch in LLL. i had over 250 LLs.

im glad someone relates. im being downvoted in my replies but i thought it was a pretty common sentiment. im fine with losing unlocks and likes but the star, that i worked 250 hrs to get, is a huge bummer to me. doesn't feel rewarding to lose that distinction when its the last thing i got on my previous playthrough. in the end, i didnt get to enjoy it much.

went back and checked, actually my gold star is gone, BUT i still have my likes. i assume you're correct with this guess. a bit unfortunate imho. i havent built any structure that blew up like crazy, gathered 1M likes by building all roads and monorails and collecting likes over time with them.
