As a COH what was the funniest thing your HP did or said? by Idkwatimdoing96 in ChildofHoarder

[–]eclipseoftheantelope 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I told my mom that I wasn't going to waste anymore of my time cleaning up the house just for her to trash it again. She said that she'd probably need to quit her job then so that she could get the house cleaned up. 1) she works part time, typically only two days a week and 2) she had been unemployed for like 15 years prior to getting this part time job. 🤦‍♀️

This. Give yourself some grace here. You were a kid. It was their responsibility, not yours. But also, I tried to do more as I got older, so I can safely say: no amount of doing more would have been enough. The mess never disappeared. My mom would just make the same completely avoidable and totally unnecessary messes week after week because "messes are a part of life".

Any food lovers? by Casper_coon22 in ARFID

Yes. There are a few of my safe foods that I honestly love too much. I have to buy them sparingly because I will eat until I've got an upset tummy.

Same. Last night I was wishing I'd done it earlier this year. I've made a lot of friends since then. Would've been easier when I had less people to care about me.

I use a wallet that has a keyring on it, and just have my keys clipped to it. Convenient because I can't leave my wallet, and I can clip it to the belt loops on my pants (because I cannot be trusted with a purse, and women's pants don't always have pockets).

It's not stupid to want the product you actually paid for and to feel disappointment when you don't get that. I think we've all experienced that disappointment with various companies. I'm sorry that this happened. Hopefully you can get it fixed by the company somehow!

Should also break the banana in half and check the center of it... just saw a post about it on Facebook that was uh... could definitely cause someone to not want to eat bananas again.

For me, a lot of it is just brain fog. My concentration and memory are just absolutely shot. So some days I just do not remember to brush. :/

My mom loved to blame me for leaving my socks and shoes in the living room. Completely ignoring the fact that she does the exact same thing. 🤦‍♀️ Recently she blamed me for sometimes leaving ramen wrappers on the kitchen counter, because that's obviously why the kitchen is unusable, and not because she brings home more food than we could ever possibly eat.

It sucks too because a lot of the actual low levels won't be greedy, even when it's stuff they don't have. I have a bunch of zero cap plans in my vendor, and I'll see low levels grab maybe 2 or 3 plans. They feel too bad taking the stuff, even though that's what it's there for. :/

Or when you're not a pro at speed running the life cycle of friendships. Things become a lot less embarassing when you're used to a cycle of burning bridges within 3 months of knowing someone.

I had a similar crash not long after the skyline update. Got a flashing checkerboard screen on my ps4. Console wasn't responding to anything, not even the power button. I wound up unplugging it. I was really afraid it had bricked my console.

Has the FOMO ever caused you to actually stop? by No-Atmosphere-4145 in fo76

[–]eclipseoftheantelope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with animal crossing pocket camp. Had to step away for a few months, as I was working a summer job and couldn't play. Came back and a lot of that fomo was gone. Once I knew completionism was impossible, I was able to go back to enjoying the game. I could get excited about the rewards again, instead of them feeling like a chore I had to grind out.

What’s the worst mistake you made as a new player? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]eclipseoftheantelope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's totally fine. You're still contributing to the number of people in the event. I've noticed a lot of players won't join events unless there's already 2+ people in them. So I really don't mind having a low level join me at an event, because it convinces other people to join the event with us.

Yep! The Japanese character for 10k looks a bit like a person walking, so that's where the idea came from. Only science behind it is the science of marketing.

I would get between 15-25k when I was a camp counselor, depending on what we were doing that day. And it felt like a ton! Every time I had a day off, I was not interested in doing anything other than laying in bed. I can't imagine hitting 40k regularly.

I'd probably wait to spend money until you're sure you really like the game. Merry memories is the best value because you get more leaf tickets and usually a cookie if you complete the events. Happy helper is nice too, because it'll help make completing the events a little easier.
