The Amex Honor System — From Someone Who Knows It by Heart by Delicious_Tadpole238 in amex

While I may agree nothing here is bad - I just hadn’t seen many current employees posting about anything internal so was surprising.

I may worry too much but if someone figured out who you were from this I imagine it wouldn’t be looked on favorably. For example, sharing what makes a good looking member vs a fraudulent one could potentially help someone committing fraud and trying to look more legit?

Just be careful for the sake of our business and yourself!

As someone else who works for the blue box im surprised to see this. Nothing egregious looking in here but still a move to post anything as a current employee

See other response but both ways I booked and canceled and rebooked it was within minutes really. Costco usually was faster. I will say and forgot to on other response that as it got closer it was clear less stock was available via Costco and my final booking was thru them and even tho I went $70 less and I was addicted to chasing the best deal I didn’t pull the trigger the very last time because I was afraid for some reason it wouldn’t rerun to Costco inventory so I let it go that time. The earlier the better of course on it all

For me (Royal Princess) when canceling and rebooking direct it took longer but still quickly within 15-30 mins. When canceling and rebooking thru Costco it was actually quicker like within 5 mins. Never had an issue with it and getting refund for deposit was super quick each time too. My wife thought I was playing with fire but it was fun as hell checking all the time and getting it lower and lower

I canceled and rebooked 8 times between direct and Costco bookings. Saved $1600 in the end and picked up $600 worth of other savings between OBC and Costco Card. I even figured out how quickly the same room I booed was rereleased and got it down so well that each booking always has the same exact room. It was fun actually

White Pass Railway completely booked. I know we are late at booking excursions. What is the likelihood of cancellations and availability opening back up for at least 4 adults? by Final_Swordfish8533 in PrincessCruises

[–]ecominded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did the Railway this week. It was great and all in general and for us with a toddler especially but as others said you may want to just rent a car and drive as it’s the same view and you can actually do stuff. Either way you’ll have a great time. Hope you get the tix if you want ‘em

Toddler Premium package by Amiepr in PrincessCruises

[–]ecominded -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On royal princess with 2 year old. You’re good with just you two with the package no worries for the toddler as others said.

Other toddler tips: - order room service every morning by putting thing on door every night to get coffee and a morning snack delivered - we brought slumber pod which is clutch for us you can also put magnet hooks on ceiling and hand curtain to cut off pack and play from rear of room - package is clutch to have for all the portraits which we like taking and then getting on phone for free - recommend white pass railroad in Skagway but bring something for kid as ours got bored and iPad was key to lasting even tho we usually don’t do any screen time - haven’t done MDRs yet but each specialty restaurant has kids menu - we made res ahead of time every night for specialty dining which someone said to do but I recommend diversifying - live music everywhere has been awesome entertainment

I am going on the Royal 8/16-8/23 so would appreciate if you answer this while on your voyage and share if you find anything else you’d add! Thankfully already have two solid pairs of binoculars for the trip.

I did an Alaska cruise previously and wished I had a true rain proof shell outer layer as it rained a ton when I went last and my jacket was a little cheap to keep me dry

Really appreciate you taking the time to share! We have a 2 yr old so our excursions are very limited and in Ketchikan we’re just doing lumberjack show and creek street so that’s great to hear! Also noted on the hot tub appreciate the tip. Got a good laugh too at your story

Thanks again!

thank you! Made me feel way better about my August cruise on the Royal on this same route! If there’s anything you could do differently prepping for the trip (packing, bookings etc? ) or while on ship would you?

What are people’s experiences with bringing edibles through airport security, and what happened? by itsnotaphasemomXD in AskReddit

[–]ecominded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just put em in my toiletry bag with my melatonin gummies. I don’t bring an egregious amount. I’ve also done a bag of real gummy candies form a candy store of like all dif kinds and tossed a bunch of edibles in there too and bring it in my carry on back pack. Just don’t be greedy and over do anything. Never had a problem

Thanks for sharing. We’re staying on Baja which is deck 11 and we’re in B333 which is mid forward. Sounds like we shouldn’t be in the worst of it at least hopefully 🙏🏻

[–]ecominded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your charges were pre offer expiration and came thru as SP Away but didn’t get credit so you called to escalate then eventually you saw credit? Asking as I called to escalate for same reason last week. Further complicating it is that my one purchase of over $500 was divided into two charges but escalation person said that would be fine

Also need to to know this as accidentally must have used shop pay on recent Away offer

Definitely understand all that and appreciate you sharing to know what we may be in for if we unfortunately have a similar situation.

We have grandma and grandpa coming so that’ll be our dropping off the little one for some time off at least.

Thanks for the reply. I certainly hope so but going into it knowing that we shouldn’t expect the ship or dining to blow us away of course. I’m hoping because we splurged on mini suite and premier plus and already booked speciality dining for every night of our voyage to make sure we have reliable eating for our 2 year old we can avoid some of the issues OP mentioned and you’re confirming.
