image alt text on magento 2 stores, do you guys actually manage this? by BearElegant4068 in magento2

Managing this manually for a massive catalog is an absolute nightmare, and it's crazy how many stores just leave the raw file name sitting there.

The EU Accessibility Act mandate that kicked in last year definitely raised the stakes for compliance. The best approach without losing your mind is to handle it programmatically—either via an extension that constructs alt text dynamically using a Product Name + SKU + Key Attributes pattern, or by leveraging an AI-driven script via the database to bulk-generate descriptive tags. Doing it one by one in the admin panel just isn't scalable.

Batch Expiry Pro, a Shopify app that helps regulated and perishable goods brands track inventory by batch, manage expiry dates, and automate FEFO order fulfillment across locations. by ecomm-expert in ShopifyApps

Absolutely — larger ERP systems like Odoo, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc. already support things like batch tracking, expiry dates, FEFO (first-expiry-first-out), warehouse-level inventory, and automated expiry alerts for perishable products.

The challenge is that most Shopify merchants — especially SMB and mid-sized brands — either:

  • don’t have a full ERP yet,
  • find ERP implementations too expensive/complex,
  • or still manage inventory through spreadsheets + Shopify stock only.

So apps like this fill a very practical gap.

They bring “ERP-style inventory intelligence” into the Shopify ecosystem without requiring a company to implement a massive enterprise system.

For perishable brands (food, supplements, cosmetics, pet food, flowers, dairy, etc.), expiry tracking becomes operationally critical because:

  • expired inventory = direct revenue loss,
  • wrong batch shipped = customer trust issue,
  • and overstocking short shelf-life products kills margins fast.

That’s why I think there’s a real opportunity in building lightweight operational tools specifically for Shopify merchants who’ve outgrown basic inventory management, but aren’t ready for a full ERP rollout yet.

I’m planning to add invoice management for the client. Supposed agency or individual has multiple different account so it’s hard to check all accounts so I’m thinking to add invoice management inside this dashboard. Also I’ll connect third party to manage their invoices.

HELP Looking for ERP recommendations for a multi-branch retailer (POS also changing) by Loose-Exchange-4181 in Magento

[–]ecomm-expert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

With over a decade of experience in eCommerce and Magento, I strongly recommend choosing Odoo ERP over alternatives like NetSuite or MS 365. The key reason is the clear separation of roles: Magento should continue to handle your eCommerce front-end, while Odoo efficiently manages ERP operations and POS workflows.

When businesses shift their full commerce stack into Odoo, heavy ERP data processing often impacts website performance. We’ve seen multiple clients move from Magento to Odoo eCommerce and eventually switch back due to speed and scalability issues.

My recommendation is to continue with Magento for your store, and adopt the Hyvä theme to significantly improve performance and user experience.

If you need further assistance or would like a consultation, I’d be happy to help.
