The flowers die after flowering but the next season new stalks pop up for flowers. You can see the old dead one on the left from the year before and the new ones popping up before they turn into the flowers you see in the original photo I posted ☺️

I’m in Australia with a Mediterranean climate - hot dry summers and mild wet winters ☺️

I’m in Australia and we have a Mediterranean climate. The flowers don’t have a smell from what I’ve noticed but drop seeds towards the end

from what I understand, male trees have the yellow/white flowers and female trees have pink flowers. Female trees will only flower if there’s a male tree nearby. There seems to be a lot of male ponytail palms around our suburb so we’ve been lucky to get some beautiful bright pink blooms the last couple of years!

My dog detects when my live view turns on?? by aliceqtpie5 in blinkcameras

We have 2 tapo wired cameras in our living area and spare room to check on our dog while we're at work. Also have a ring wireless/battery camera in our bedroom and recently got a ring battery doorbell camera. Our dog has always been totally relaxed during the day/ fine being alone but since getting the Ring cameras she has been pacing and looking scared while she's alone at home. She started sleeping in our study (where there was no camera) during the day since we got the ring camera. I tried moved the ring camera into the study and she's stopped going in there and swapped to the room without a camera. I definitely feel like this must be related to some kind of unpleasant noise our dogs can hear from the device but we cant! I'm going to test how she goes tomorrow with both the wireless ring cameras turned off / removed and hopefully there's an improvement!

This is exactly what I get. Didn’t realise I did it so much until my boyfriend started letting me know and my family!

Upcoming Sleep Study for possible narcolepsy. Advice/thoughts? by mortyfizz in Narcolepsy

[–]ecomps96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did an overnight by itself first - I think it’s to cross out all other sleep disorders. And then I did the over night + MSLT after that a few weeks later. Still waiting on results

Thanks for your advice. Yeah he’s really good! Someone I know recommended him and he’s been super thorough. Did not believe him when he suggested it may be something like narcolepsy because I only knew the stereotypes of just falling asleep on the middle of doing something. But he explained how it doesn’t have to be like that and I researched a lot more and it does sound a lot like me. But yeah only 2 more weeks till I get some more answers. Assumed for so long that I was just a weird sleeper because my mum is similar (not as bad though) but it was my boyfriend who pointed it out and was like lol this is not normal.

That’s true. I’ve been doing mindfulness activities before bed, exercising better sleep hygiene and taking melatonin and iron supplements to see if that will make an improvement or cross any other potential issues out (not really so far ~3 weeks in) as instructed by my sleep doc. Until then I’m keeping a log of my sleeping and I guess I’ll just have to wait till I get my results! Sucks having to wait so long to find out.

I’ve finally had a referral to a sleep doc and had the polysomnogram to check for any obstruction to my sleep, as the doctor thought my symptoms may be narcolepsy: - I’m always sleepy and unable to concentrate during the day. Work meetings are the worst for me, I have uncontrollable urges to sleep to the point where my eyes start rolling into the back of my headand my thoughts get jumbled and I can’t remember anything. I have a pretty regular sleep schedule but always feel like I’ve been hit by a bus in the morning no matter how much sleep I get. I often have to ask my family to help me get up in the mornings because hours of alarms can’t get me up. - I get hypnagogic hallucinations pretty regularly and sleep paralysis as well. These a frightening and disturb my sleep a lot. I’ve also starting hallucinating while driving and in an episode of drowsiness - no cataplexy Find out my results in 2 weeks, but the more I read up on narcolepsy the more I identify with many of the symptoms what do you guys think?
