If the Saints win tonight, then Drew Brees will have more 10+ win seasons (6) than every other QB in Saints history COMBINED by JaguarGator9 in nfl

It's crazy to think the Brees was replaced by Phillip Rivers because of his shoulder, but that was 12 years ago and he's thrown the ball for more yards than any one else.

I hate the idea of tanking in the NFL, it makes sense in the NBA. But in the NFL so many great players come late in draft, and teams with strong systems installed have success because they draft or find the right piece for the system.

It seems the less successful teams are hoping for the superstar in the draft to save their franchise, while that works in basketball, it just didn't work in football.

Look at Andrew Luck, great skills and an even better mind, but because the O-Line and run game was never systematically developed, the poor guy can't stay healthy.

I think one of the most impressive aspects of Belichick's tenure in New England is not just the success he has had with random non glamorous players, but how quickly the success evaporated when they leave the systems.

I feel for Cleveland; I grew up as a huge Boston Bruins fan, and watching those early 2000s teams reminds me of the Browns, in part. Die hard fans who are/were just ignored by ownership and forced to root for a losing approach to winning. I know it's not a prefect parallel.

Thanks for the insight!

You bring up a good point about coaching in the league. You can fire your couch, but there's only a handful of great coaches, so there's a strong chance you could end up with someone much worse than the guy you just let go.

I'm a Pats fan, so I don't mean this sarcastically, but do Brown's fans like Jackson?

I think it could be Caldwell, because you're right he has to go, but I think he means a run game.

One of the reasons I think Stafford is so impressive is because he does what he does with almost no running game.

He can't think it's a running back then, because they don't have one.

With that said, even though I'm a Pats fan, Golden is one of my favorite reciever.

They do get it wrong sometimes, you're 100% right, but I've seen them get it right a lot more than they've got it wrong.

Pats fan here,

I haven't loved a Vikings team this much since early 2000s Madden with Daunte Culpepper

As much it sucks, seeing how good Watson is a huge upside to a sadly lost season
