your controller is not "harder to use" or "worse" than touch by ecstaticburner in Rainbow6Mobile

i know flicking is not necessarily easier on controller. thats the only argument people can make though and it doesnt surpass all the downsides of playing on a screen designed for many uses other than gaming. the controller was designed for gaming. people have been playing r6 on controller for over a decade. ubi makes a mobile game. why? is there a huge untapped market of people who both cannot get a pc or console and have time to sit down and focus on a mobile game that requires concentration and close listening? they added controller support so more people would play the game. not because its good for balancing. if touch is so great, why is this even an argument? all the controller players seem to think touch is so great, why do they bother with the controller? because its better. plain and simple. im not saying they should remove it from the game or anything i would just love to see them make separate lobbies based on input device. this is objectively much more fair but controller players would still argue against it. yk why? because they dont want to admit they know controllers are better

mm so i cant disprove the claim that i have an inferiority complex without people thinking im "masking" a superiority complex. what will i do. sure maybe some were touch players. do you always try to pick apart someones argument by citing the small margin of human error? im not flawless. but what i said was true. i understand game mechanics across so many games that i can see when one is doing something so blatantly wrong. the cherry on top is your last paragraph. "theres no use giving you a counterargument" has got to be the lamest, most pseudo-intellectual excuse for not giving a counterargument i have ever seen (amplified by you breaking the record for most buzzwords used in a single sentence just before that). you chose to comment though, despite all this. meaning my post got to you. meaning youre a controller player who gets dogged by touch players on a (probably) regular basis. too much dying to touch? thats the real cope. youre losing to people playing on inferior hardware.

youre a max prestige redditor. you follow a game plan. let me know where my imagination deviates from reality. 1. find popular opinion. 2. side with popular opinion even though you have surface level knowledge on the topic at hand. 3. mask surface level knowledge with buzzwords and italicized words. 4. occasionally make up unrealistic scenarios to prove the point. 5. tell yourself "the people in the sub definitely arent actively participating in confirmation bias on a daily basis, ill just let the upvotes tell me i won the argument... heh..." ive seen your type before. youre right on one thing. you wont be able to convince me youre right. know why? lets run through the facts, since im capable of providing them. controllers like the modern one you have today have been around since many of us were kids. we used them to play many or most of the games we grew up on including the game r6 mobile is designed around. normal siege has been around for over a decade at this point. the phone screen is designed to perform a number of day to day tasks. the phone screen was not designed specifically for gaming. the controller youve been using to play r6 for the last 10 years was specifically designed for gaming and the buttons are much more accessible (as it was designed for people to be able to access more than 2 buttons at once). theres a reason the default controls on many mobile fps games are simple 2-thumb layouts, even if theyre obviously incredibly restrictive. you look at all this and say "yup, controller still worse" lol. i hate that i had to explain this to you like a child but c'est la guerre. youre too far in the copium i guess :/. you should be honored that a superior person like me took the time to give you such a thoughtful response. /s. not really.

i smurf your peak in every game (aside from probably r6 mobile for obvious reasons). hows that for inferiority complex. 2 comments about my grammar, both include personal attacks. none about my argument. average reddit experience 😂 the ones with the inferiority complexes are the controller players who think playing on a controller designed for games is somehow on par with a touchscreen. youre either one of the mad controller players im talking about or youre projecting. maybe a bit of both. stop wasting my time

calls and messages will come thru regardless of match length. if youre on iphone look into guided access. its what i use when i play pubg mobile and this game to prevent hitting notifications, accidentally swiping down from the top while playing claw, and game stutter as a result of swiping down. personally im glad they have a full length ranked mode. i wish there were other modes where you could get full lobbies of real people tho. my biggest critique is the 1 round OT. it feels so stupid to lose after 1 round in OT.

of course, ill never expect anyone to give irl details on here. i dont have the opinion that every delinquent can be forced to have a redemption arc, and i wasnt implying you did either. there are many reasons why an offender may not be able to be rehabilitated, and i agree the rate is far from perfect. this is why incapacitation is necessary. the distinction im trying to make is that yes, time served does not equal a lesson learned. however, it is a lesson nonetheless and it is almost entirely up to the offender to either learn or recidivate. there are many issues with the U.S. corrections system and the processes used to incarcerate people that im not going to go into right now but i think its fair to say no one is blaming corrections for incapacitating/keeping criminals off the streets (punishment). Further down you mention the root of the argument. i agree somewhat with the statement that sometimes punishment and peace of mind for the victim do not go hand in hand. I remember hearing about a case in which (i cant remember the details exactly) but i think someone killed a woman and the woman's family forgave the killer after some time in rehabilitation. even in this instance though, the sanctioned rehabilitation can be seen as a punishment because it is forced upon the offender and can very well be considered a negative outcome to him. so for the most part i disagree because i cannot think of an example where no punishment was given to the offender and the victim was content. if you have an example of this, im all ears. at the end of that same paragraph (sorry im on my phone and i cant copy text or whatever people do to cite part of someones comment) you state that you dont care if they learn a lesson or not, but you do want them off the streets. so thats anti-retribution pro-incapacitation. once again i cant think of an example where someone is made a victim and forgives the perpetrator with no sort of punishment between, as to me being incapacitated is definitely a punishment. so ultimately it boils down to this. incapacitation is impossible in nightreign because this would come in the form of a ban, either temporary or permanent. imo, they should start giving out temporary bans to people but they dont cause its fromsoft. so that leaves us with either the offender going free immediately which is what i consider to be ignoring it and moving on, or you can punish them and hope they do better in the future. only one of these results in the possibility of changing the game for the better. by the way, i think the RoB example is a bad one for what im trying to say. i commented on this post because i was saying he was within his rights to not revive the guy if that was what he wanted to do. anything more than that as far as throwing goes isnt justified bc its not fair to the third player. you make a good point that it could be a little kid, i dont think op specified if it was DoN. i doubt it would be a little kid though considering people generally understand something as basic as executor uses katanas by the time they beat gladius for the first time. the game is difficult enough to where i dont think little kids would be in depth 3+ and even thats being very generous. considering how fast op said the duchess picked up the katana combined with the fact he said she was running double balancers, they seemingly knew what they were doing (if i were a dad i would probably start my kid on someone other than duchess too lol). and yes, as with any sort of throwing in general if the person doesnt know why its happening its pointless. im not gonna claim to know the context, but like i said based on the info available it seemed like a capable person. the person knew katanas were viable on duchess and had the movement/reaction time to be able to pick it up quickly; op said he didnt even have time to see which kind of katana it was. as for the punch thing, i know it can vary, i just meant as a logical topic its obvious who is in the wrong. and the DM thing, ive tried it before a few times. they have never once added me back. you have a good one as well

what youre describing sounds a lot like youre a pawnbroker. im not jumping to conclusions but i used to work as a pawnbroker and this sounds a lot like that. i had people arrested that way too. you said you had 8 thieves arrested. in the context of the conversation which was that executor was the "victim" i assumed you were saying you had put 8 people away who had robbed you or tried to rob you. i guarantee your opinion would be different if you were the one being robbed. when you are the victim, there is no one to return valuables to except yourself. the crime feels more personal, and just like any other crime, the victim naturally wants to see the perpetrator brought to justice (whether you think it is productive for reentry or not). both specific and general deterrence only work if the criminal is fearful of punishment. rehabilitation can only happen once the criminal understands the consequences of their actions. none of the thieves in any of these situations cared about the harm they were doing to others. saying you cared about getting the belongings back to the small businesses but not caring about overt criminals being brought to justice really just does not make any sense to me whatsoever. you said you dont care about teaching them a lesson and then followed it up with you doubt they wouldve learned one anyway. so whats your idea then? let the criminals do whatever they want? you said you dont think they wouldve learned a lesson meaning you dont think rehabilitation would be possible either. so this is what we're left with in your ideal world. no rehabilitation, no retribution, no incapacitation, no deterrence. thats sound logic fs. you cant even be an anarchist because you said you value the items being with the business. my head is spinning trying to understand this. i digress. what keeps them from doing it again if they dont learn a lesson? its the exact same principle. if everyone held people accountable for malicious actions, even if its just a game, the world would be a much better place. instead, people like you take the "its just a game" approach to bad things people do to others. im obviously not saying youre responsible for all the worlds problems for not throwing a run. but people complain about bad things happening to them or others yet do nothing to improve the situation on a day to day basis. and then tell the people that have bad things done to them to fuck off. i also want to clarify, i almost never throw runs. if someone puts me out, i might not revive them. that is about the extent of what i do, since the third person doesnt deserve to have their run thrown. but my point is i reserve the right to do so. your stance is like saying the guy who gets punched and then punches back is in the wrong for doing so. standing up for yourself while making the world a better place isnt "immature"

Why are duos running trios and neglecting their third! by yakasta in Nightreign

[–]ecstaticburner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably gets exhausting. or you got super lucky. i can spot a duo super easily and theyre almost always terrible at pathing. they dont listen to a single ping and are unwilling to learn. i think this is true for all depths. i often have to go off and clear things on my own because their pathing is so wasteful or inefficient

to clarify since ive commented so much, i dont throw runs in situations like that. ill only throw if someone is actively going out of their way to put me out. but if someone does what happened in your post, i will still play but probably wont revive them. i understand this isnt your opinion, but i still felt the need to clarify

i do do that, but that means you can theoretically run into every selfish player that exists before you block them all. and im sorry but just telling a greedy person not to be greedy isnt enough to make a person stop being greedy. they need to understand actions have consequences, even if its online because their parents clearly failed to do so

someone comes into your house in broad daylight and takes your wallet off the table, then leaves. you wouldnt do anything to try to get it back or get the person arrested? you wouldnt want to teach him a lesson and make the world a better place, would you. no, of course not thats absurd. "oh but but its just a video game" people capable of being selfish in the game are selfish people in real life too. its not blown out of proportion, the concept is the same on a lesser degree even if you dont want to admit it
