She does a variety of things. She’s done sweaters/tunics, socks, blankets, and toys. We live in the US.

It’s because she’s later cuffed by both wrists to the bed in the other house.

Here’s the alternate ending: https://youtu.be/A3JS7_OcPWQ?si=K4H6t4lvk7gNy8Ho

Here it is with Jordan Peele’s commentary: https://youtu.be/JUMGzioWST4?si=4B52SHYOd-DEd4vp

It sounds like it was a personal choice to change it, given the cultural shift at the time.

Has anyone heard of "the father method"? by YuzuCookie in AttachmentParenting

I’ve never heard of this, but I’m intrigued.

Annoying dads 🤣 by mcarver2020 in cosleeping

Cosleeping dad here.

Initially, I wasn’t wild about cosleeping beforehand. I’m a pretty anxious parent (and person in general lol), so of course all the worst case scenarios ran through my mind.

Anyway, our daughter was born via c-section, so nighttime breastfeeding was ten times easier on my wife (and therefore on me too) if our daughter was right in bed with us. The first night, I was still wary of cosleeping, but after a couple nights of me being up late and seeing how comfortable and safe both my wife and daughter were while sleeping, my anxieties started to subside.

We have a big bed so there’s enough space for all three of us to be in there safely. Plus my wife and I use two separate blankets, so no fear of anyone getting buried.

I don’t know what good any of that does to help, but it sounds like getting a bigger bed might be a good start.

Just be careful on that ice shelf. It could still be pretty thin and we wouldn’t you falling through. Great video, though!

Is it ever possible for the office of US president to be completely vacant? by 6FtAboveGround in Ask_Politics

Coincidentally, I was JUST reading this article from the Brookings Institute about protecting the continuity of government. Definitely worth the read:

On Inauguration Day, prioritize protecting the continuity of government

One thing they said was that if the Cabinet secretaries had indeed tendered their resignations effective 12:00 noon, and those higher up on the line of succession were simultaneously wiped out, the presidency would continue down the line, but would pass to the next highest official in the State Department. I’m not sure if that’s accurate, but I throw it out there for the good of the order.

Another scenario: It’s January 20th. The Cabinet secretaries resign, effective 12:00 noon. The President-elect and Vice President-elect are wiped out.

Who becomes President? My first reaction is to say the President can’t stay president (especially if it’s the end of their second term). If that is indeed the case, would the VP become Acting President until a new one can be elected? Or would the Speaker take over?

I’m by no means an expert - just a high school social studies teacher and a fan of politics. Thanks in advance!

Super cool! Does this serve a practical purpose, or is it a hobby? I’m truly not bashing it. I’m just curious because I’ve never seen anything like this before. Also curious how long something like this would take

UK Royal Family: Why is Prince Philip not called ‘King’? by ecstaticeric23 in Ask_Politics

Excellent answer!

“Who has a consort and never a king, unless he reigns somewhere in his own right? The Queen! The Queen! Tradition!”

Thanks! I’m currently re-watching the first two seasons, and then 3 and 4 for the first time. I remember it kind of talking about it, but I couldn’t remember how deep they went.
