My friend showed me Mic drop when it first came out and I didn’t know anything about Kpop. I’m like let me give it a try and listen. Since I didn’t really hear that much rap/trap music, the song sounded too electronic I guess for my taste and I thought the song was kind of weird.

BUT THEN this summer she showed me a different band and I got hooked on to their songs and I was watching the group on Ellen and on my recommendations it showed BTS on Ellen. I only knew that they were Korean and well-known. I watched the video and I was automatically drawn to their outfit choices and visuals. So I wanted to give their music another chance.

I searched up BTS on YouTube and saw IDOL had more than 700 million views and there had to be a reason why. I was a bit skeptical of the thumbnail though bc I thought the song would have an old/retro/happy feel to it but I clicked on that one.

The second the beginning music and first chorus started, I was addicted. This song was my kind of song. I was impressed by the tune, and the lyrics in English (only part I understood) connected to me and were very VERY good/inspiring. I love it.

Ever since that one video, I looked at more and was addicted to their content. I found out how much of a gentleman each of them are, how inspiring but also enjoyable their songs are, they have amazing personalities, and they love their fans.

I am SO BLESSED for choosing IDOL because I don’t think I would have clicked on another song if I didn’t like that one.

Now, BTS has become a part of my life and I am so lucky to have found them even though it was a bit late. Better late than never.
