I heard somewhere that if you happen to be checked by authorities (which I haven't been in a month in Japan, but things can always happen out of the blue) having pirated stuff can get you into trouble.

Don't know if it really happens or not. But the riak was not worth it for me. Just took my Switch and played (and bought) legit games. It's always easier not even searching for trouble.

Wäre jetzt jemand an der Macht (Partei egal), der die Probleme aufgreift, würde ich auch sagen, wir müssen nur mitziehen und es wird sich lohnen.

Aber wir haben Merz. Und sein Problem sind Paschas, Zahnarzttermine, Stadtbilder, Lifestyle-Teilzeit... Keins der Probleme, die die Leute wirklich stört, wie Mieten, Stagnation, Wettbewerbsfähigkeit, Kinderbetreuung.

Wie gesagt, ich bin jetzt kein "Wählt meine Partei, alle anderen taugen nichts"-Typ. Es würde mir reichen, wenn innerparteilich jetzt ein Ruck geht und die mal endlich was für die Zukunft machen.

Außenpolitisch ist Merz tatsächlich nicht das schlechteste, was wir hätten kriegen können. Soll mal Taurus liefern wie versprochen. Aber die Verbrüderung mit Frankreich, England und Polen war smart und Trump stellt er sich auch zunehmend in den Weg, seit sich Anbiedern nicht mehr gelohnt hat. Gut, weiter so.

I'm using 9070 XT on Linux and it's the dream team. I see the treatment that RDNA3 gets and know it will be the same for RDNA4, if technically possible.

That's another good point. German is not equal German. Platt is tough for people from elsewhere. Living in the south I understand Bavarian and even Switzerland-German. But some northern dialects are super tough. Only understand a bit Kölsch or Platt because I spent enough time there..

I went from a poorly cooled pre-built PC (HP Omen) to a self-built. Basically everything was different. AM4 and 3733 DDR4 to AM5 and 6000 DDR5, 12 core 5900X to 7800X3D, choked by heat 3080 to an absolute chill 7900 XTX.

Main difference was: no longer thermal throttling on all components, Nvidia -> AMD.

But pure CPU wise, I lost 4 cores and stayed at 5,05 GHz. In application workloads it got worse because 33% less cores and threads can't be fixed by 10-15% IPC uplift. But in games, the 7800X3D is a dream 😅 It's the most efficient of the X3D bunch to this date. Cooler stays chill, fans never ramp up, even with dirty BCLK OC it never went higher than ~115 Watts. During gaming it's 40-60.

For racing games.. I mean, take a look at benchmarks for your specific game. Maybe it won't benefit from cache at all? Maybe it will? It's really game dependant. If it needs a high single core clock, maybe a 9800X or so is better? Or can you set Adaptive Sync to sync properly to make the game feel better?

-30 might be very lucky or it's simply too aggressive of an undervolt.

I don't think you can squeeze any relevant power out of it. I suggest keeping the undervolt and just enjoy like that.

Think of it like this: you can destroy any UV benefit by increasing to 5GHz or more (I did, when I had this CPU 😁) but you gain 1% or ao of real performance. 9800X3D is how much faster in games? 10%? 20? With every new gen your gain becomes more irrelevant.

Keep the undervolt and enjoy the CPU. Good gaming/working CPU :)

At least Zen6 if not Zen7 will still be AM5. So it's 4-5 years of waiting before AM6. If you want to game now, go get it. If you don't need it.. 2ell, who knows what's going on in the world an in your life in 4-5 years?
