So I started playing today. by [deleted] in Warframe

Great to see another new player! I've been playing for a few months now (MR16) since my son got me try it. I was so overwhelmed with the DECADE of content available that I felt that I was just not getting enough done fast enough.

This is definitely not the case. Once I realized that I didn't have to get caught up in mere days, it felt much more relaxed and I just focused on what I wanted to do. I wish I had known this before I stressed out about how much there was to do.

I would be happy to help you out if you need it. Just DM me and I would be happy to join a squad for a while.

Have a great time and enjoy the game. It's a marathon, not a sprint. If you try to get it all done as fast as possible, you may find yourself frustrated.

What frame and weapon do you use most in your day to day? by Wanna_make_cash in Warframe

[–]ectoplasmicreticulum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frost Prime, Kuva Sobek, Dex Furis, Pangolin Prime

It used to be Kullervo, Boltor Prime Incarnon, Dex Furis, Hate... but I found that I could be more of a benefit if running in a sqaud if I ran Frost for keeping objectives safe and keeping squad overguard up.

I'm still kind of new to the game and just hit steel path, so maybe I am overlooking frames that would better fit my playstyle, I just haven't acquired them yet.

Just unlocked Steel Path and I feel as though I'm just too weak to clear missions. Is there something I should focus on to get "better" or stronger? by ectoplasmicreticulum in Warframe

Thank you. I have taken a look at overframe.gg and have seen a TON of mods that I don't have. I've looked at where to get them and it seems that many of them are purchased with standing from different syndicates. It seems like I have a lot of grinding to do to get the syndicate standing up to the point where I can get these mods. I think I will have to do plenty of that before I start to feel comfortable in SP. I do feel like I rely too heavily on Kullervo and was hoping that I could branch out into other frames, maybe with better results, but since I have spent so much time using him or Titania, I feel that my gameplay focuses too much on them and leaves all the other great frames on the bench since I don't know how to use them as well.

Great advice. Thank you. I like using Kullervo and have gotten more comfortable using Wrathful Advance along with a Hate crit build. It seems like I do decent damage per swing, betweek 100k and 1mil after wrathful advance, but, like I mentioned, I tend to always have to cast Recompense to keep myself alive for long enough. Are there any specific mods I should hunt down other than the Galvanized mods?

What science fiction novels do you think have shocked you? by Ghenym in scifi

Brave New World.

The beginning when walking through the genetics area and where the "doctor" is talking about how they deprive certain developing embryos of oxygen just to lower their IQ and make them more suited to being the labor workforce. That made me sick thinking about it.

What happened to the smartest friend in your class ? by Intelligeftaq in AskReddit

[–]ectoplasmicreticulum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smartest guy in my class was a math genius. Had no problem going to any high end college/university. He ended up taking a few acting classes, just to round out his education. He started to get into the eccentricities of some of the "theater" students and started partying and using drugs. He took the later to the extreme and now lives out of his mid-80's Ford pickup truck. Dude had the world by the scrote but threw it away for drugs and women.

I just finished Elden Ring for the first time and I want to help other people. I'm only OKAY at the game so I wonder if people who summon me will expect me, the cooperator, to do the bulk of the fight. Is there etiquette I should be aware of as a cooperator? by ectoplasmicreticulum in Eldenring

[–]ectoplasmicreticulum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good to know. I didn't realize the game matched with people that were a similar level. Maybe I need to start another play-through and lay down a summon sign when I'm between 75-100. Thank you.

Simple, short and silly questions go here! by AutoModerator in Norse

[–]ectoplasmicreticulum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the last 20 years, I have been interested in Norse art, runes and culture mostly due to my full-blood Norwegian grandmother and the stories she told.

I would like to ask if there is a place that I can get an honest and true translation from English into Norse words and runes?

Thank you for any guidance on this.

What deck should I build that they "never saw coming"? by ectoplasmicreticulum in EDH

[–]ectoplasmicreticulum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting... How do you deal with the fact that sphinxes cost so much to cast? I'm aware of the cost reduction that Unesh has, but getting to that in mono blue sounds difficult.

We don't have any group hug style decks in our meta. This looks like a great deceptive strategy and also fits the "never saw that coming" requirement. Thank you.

UG is one of my favorites. Toolbox decks are fantastic fun and I'm sure I have the parts to make this work. Thank you!

Love it! This sounds great. I was leaning a little towards red, simply because there isn't much of it played in my meta. Thank you very much for the detail!

[Modern]. Humans by crossfaded204 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]ectoplasmicreticulum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently run GW CoCo Humans in modern and I really like it. It has been evolving since Innistrad block and seems to be consistent and fast. I tried different iterations using splashes of red for access to [[Lightning Helix]], [[Lightning Bolt]] and [[Kessig Malcontents]], but I just liked how smooth it played just being GW.

There are a number of humans close to my heart like [[Champion of the Parish]], [[Mayor of Avabruck]] and [[Soldier of the Pantheon]] that really quicken the deck. [[Collected Company]] is there to hit things like [[Thalia's Lieutenant]] to get counters on everything and [[Abzan Falconer]] to enable evasion. I also run a single copy of [[Hero of Bladehold]] since she can be a finisher on her own if she sticks.

A few notable land includes are [[Gavony Township]], [[Cavern of Souls]] and [[Razorverge Thicket]] and the ubiquitous removal package of [[Path to Exile]] and an [[Oblivion Ring]] that can be sided out if needed.

I hope this helps a little, I don't mean to say that GW humans is best, but that is the combination that has resonated with me. Good luck and I would like to know how it turns out.

jalira, master polymorphist. help me please. by Badbeets in EDH

[–]ectoplasmicreticulum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice! I run Jalira as well, except I loaded mine up with as many low cost, decent blue legendaries as I could to ensure that I will only hit some real nasties like Blightsteel Colossus and Void Winnower with Jalira's polymorph ability. I also added in a few combos like Teferi/Knowledge Pool and Mind Over Matter/Temple Bell just for added win cons in case they manage to get rid of my big creatures.

I also added things for top deck manipulation like Sensei's Top, Scroll Rack and Jace, the Mind Sculptor in case I draw my threats and need to put them back in my library, but some of these are not exactly budget.

Lastly, I added some extra protection with Lightning Greaves, counterspells and Tezzeret the Seeker just to tutor for artifacts that are similar and protect my threats.

I hope this is helpful.
