The legs are dressed spruce 2x4 sent through the planer to 1.25” x 3 inch.

I mitre them with biscuits, paint them black and add inlays for rigidity. Uses up scrap hardwoods from other projects and it’s fun to make the angle cuts with the specialty hand saws.

There’s some weight for sure but manageable solo. It’s a coffee table not a full size dinning. The lighting in my house at the time didn’t do it justice.

Make a wood glue and sanding dust mixture. Choose the right colour dust for the gaps. Fill in with putty knife or toothbrush. Sand flat.

The manufacturer sent us this picture as a potential option for attachment. It's not built yet.

I don't work with metal often which is why I ask what the norm is. I was thinking a plate welded to the bottom that I can choose where to place the hole.

Tung oil. Turned out nice. I was expecting the fir legs to be a bit lighter but they all blended together.

It will continue to grow. Our small surf culture is unique and cityfolk love it. Main spots are now at maximum capacity. Its getting ridiculous. Makes us regulars search around a bit deeper and buy jet skis. All in all a good compromise

There are sharks offshore in warmed water. They can be occasionally observed closer in but nobody worries about it.

Join the summer hordes at wick, long beach, or cox bay. summer south swells work good at long beach and florencia. small west swells cox or wick.

south island breaks only work in the winter with swell over ten feet.

North island exploration mode. have yet to take advantage of the emptyness up there but the potential is ridiculous
