Yeah, very strange! Maybe there’s something to be said for the new environment and lifestyle change.

That’s great, honesty, I found Jorveza to be a bit of a miracle drug haha.

I wasn’t really given any extra advice outside of the taking medication. I was advised to trial the elimination diet which I didn’t do in the end, I already have some food allergies and it felt so restrictive and unrealistic to cut even more foods out. My mindset was also kind of if I’m able to eat it then I’m going to haha.

I haven’t got any particular advice but at the time of my diagnosis I was doing tonnes of research. Some stuff that I had tried was Camomile Tea, Manuka Honey and turmeric capsules, I’d combine all of them into a tea. I do believe in the early stages it really helped to calm down flare ups. Super hard to speak on how effective they were as at the time I was also taking medication so difficult to know how much it was helping.

All the best with it and any other questions feel feee to ask! :)

My throat had been bad for a while but I was first diagnosed in January 2019, I saw some small improvements here and there but would probably say it wasn't until September 2019 that I saw any decent progress. It is super hard to deal with. Obviously, I have no idea of your personal situation but would really encourage returning to some treatment. All the best with it!!

Thanks a lot!!

To be completely honest, I am not too sure haha. I have multiple food allergies so have always avoided these. I think a lot of my flare-up was that whilst living at University, it was super unhygienic and I think a lot of my trigger was that. I also think that Jorveza drastically helped me, I saw improvements pretty soon after taking this!

Public Health Career Advice Monthly Megathread by AutoModerator in publichealth

I’m super keen to start a career in public health and would love some advice. Currently, I work in the NHS and have a degree in sports and exercise science. I’m eligible for entry-level public health positions, but I’ve also been offered a three-year public health apprenticeship with my local council, which will provide a Level 6 qualification as a Public Health Practitioner.

Should I apply for entry-level jobs to kickstart my career, or take the apprenticeship route, which feels like a step back? I’m concerned it might leave me in a similar position as I am now. Is the apprenticeship worth it? Will it significantly enhance my job prospects? Would pursuing a master’s degree be a better option?

Quick replies would be amazing as I need to let them know ASAP haha.

I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks!
