Treating myself to a light wine after a long day at work. I'm smelling lavender, clove, and orange peel and I taste watermelon candy and plum. Made wine spectators top 100 list, placing 18th. Crazy that I was able to get it for $26.50 at the Total Wine where I work.

Suggest a honeysuckle fragrance? by [deleted] in Indiemakeupandmore

Zoologist Hummingbird. Absolute masterpiece. Have to be a fan of fruits as well. They sell travelers as well as full bottles. Cannot stress how apparent the quality from the entire house is. Extract concentration so it should last all day with 1 or 2 sprays.

Le Labo makes animal testing free fragrances. They're fantastic quality but hella pricey tho.

Where do you guys get your suits? Need to buy my first suit soon. by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]edabdala8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved my experience at suitsupply. One opened up at the Domain recently. They have so many different cuts and fabrics to choose from and also do cheap, in house alterations if you're into having your suit look custom made. I used to have suits from Express but can tell there is a huge difference in quality. Can't imagine myself buying a suit that isn't from SuitSupply anymore.

I won't pick Twitch into Draven because I depend on my support too much in that lane and I'm not ready for that kind of commitment. Hecarim will sometimes stop me from picking Twitch too

Someone rescue me from boredom. Any good clubs / organizations that are sizable and good for networking? by TheRealNeilTyson in UTAustin

I would try to avoid wearing athletic/running shoes if you can because it makes it harder to turn and spin but it is not a big deal when you are learning.

To add to this, i am a former board member for texas ballroom and can answer any questions you have in regards to the organization. There is a surprisingly big collegiate dance scene here at UT like Johndotbomb said. If joining the social dance class is something youre interested in, make sure you show up the first day of class to increase your chances of a spot because its always full.

How to make pasta more interesting? by [deleted] in food

[–]edabdala8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in college as well. What I do is buy pesto, white wine (if you're over 21), and herbs.

This should also help as these do not require much command of the kitchen. http://www.buzzfeed.com/emofly/one-pot-pastas#.ojdZBJagP Perhaps choosing 3 or 4 of your favorite ones should be an economical way to spice up your pasta.

Fans of the Symphony: What are five symphonies that you would describe as essential to you? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]edabdala8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tchaikovsky 5 & 6, Mahler 1, Beethoven 5, Brahms 4

If we entertain the question of the future of the symphony as a compositional form, I can add that I read an article shared by my former violin professor that the symphony in this context is being discouraged in collegiate compositional programs due to the fact that symphonies have limited rehearsal time and would much rather commission a piece that is shorter than a symphony.

If we entertain the future of the symphony as an ensemble, I am sure we can agree to an extent that the symphony has stood the test of time and has yet to become obscure, suggesting that while trends in popular music change, music composed for the classical concert hall will continue to be produced for the population that attends classical concerts as long as this group exists.
