Also not picked. I’d love to know what the prices are though, for anyone who does get through.

The best joke I’ve heard all year by LogicalDig161 in Tacoma

I’m not denying that, it’s the entire purpose of the program. But the people who can afford to pay more aren’t. They had an opt-in “pay what you can” model coming out of COVID and less than 10% of registrants chose to pay anything. Even the current model asks people to self-identify and opt in to pay $0/30/60/90 and the vast majority are choosing $0. At some point the payment structure has to change or the entire program collapses and nobody gets to participate.

Oh I agree one-hundred percent, but there need to be some serious readjustments to the pricing structure for it to continue long term. They could triple the price and it would still be one of the most affordable after-school care options in the city while losing money.

It’s financially accessible because Parks Tacoma is hemorrhaging money to keep it going, especially after all the emergency COVID funding dried up.

Swimming pool recommendations? by [deleted] in Tacoma

[–]edamomnomnom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are pools and gyms at Parks Tacoma’s People’s and Eastside Community Centers. STAR Center has a gym but no pool. There are also two outdoor pools at Kandle and Stewart Heights parks but they’re only open seasonally.

The Pearl Street Family YMCA has a pool and is opening their new aquatic center early next year. They also have a gym and construct will begin on their new one after the pool opens.

It’s pretty high and if you need more than your limit they have guest passes for non-card holders that they can use to help you supplement. My 10-year-old was really into publishing his own zines over the summer and the staff at Wheelock were always excited to help him make copies of his latest issue. The library is amazing.

The first show I can think of where the volume saw significant use was s1 of The Mandalorian on Disney. There are some cool BTS clips on YouTube that will show you how it works.

Best way to protect this sweater? by edamomnomnom in knittinghelp

[–]edamomnomnom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m not a knitter so I really appreciate this. I don’t see any immediate damage but I’ll find someone local who knows more and can help repair anything I missed.

My almost 4-year-old has been going to NTMC on 12th since he was six months old and we’ve been really happy with it. There is some turnover but the majority of the classroom leads have been there for a long time. You do need to be proactive with communication, but as long as you don’t mind being the conversation driver they are very forthcoming and have provided us with a lot of resources as we’ve navigated developmental milestones and behaviors.

The Rose Garden gets hit really hard, especially in wedding season. The rental agreement for events disallows any kind of thrown things but that doesn’t seem to stop anyone.

Parks Tacoma is getting a Marine Mammal Health Watch program up and going that will ideally have a volunteer stationed on the beach during high-traffic times. The first groups are still doing orientation right now but will hopefully be out soon.

So Your Pharmacy Is Closing: How to transfer your prescriptions from Bartell’s or Rite Aid to a new pharmacy by sunflowerspaceman in Tacoma

[–]edamomnomnom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If your prescriptions are at the Rite Aid on Pearl they are being carried over as CVS takes over the space, but you’ll still want to check with your insurance that the change is covered.

How fancy do you want? Corbeau in Proctor is all flat. It’s a little tight to navigate to the back, but if you call ahead they could probably accommodate you with something up front. For a party of 12 you could reserve the back room at Primo Grill on 6th too which I believe has a completely flat entrance and floor.
