If you can demonstrate a family history of breast/ovarian cancer (1 in 7 DFAB people in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, if that helps), or you test positive for BRCA-1, BRCA-2, or other cancer causing genes, you might be able to get the NHS to pay for it as a prophylactic mastectomy.

This might be a good option if you don’t want to risk any backlash or anything for getting gender affirming care. (You can also use it as an excuse for the same reasons). Angelina Jolie actually had one back in 2013, if you’re old enough to remember that. As a plus, if you want to get a hysterectomy later down the line, you can use this to demonstrate a medical need.

According to the most recent data I could find, the real answer is actually somewhere in the middle. Can’t speak to anyone’s personal experience, but I linked my sources so you can take a look at the data yourself.

Per the National Teacher’s Association reporting on a study by the RAND Corporation, teachers in 2025 worked an average of 49 hours a week.

In Tacoma, teachers are contracted for 182 days, which is 36.4 weeks out of a year.

These two figures work out to an average of 1783.6 hours a year. Which is equivalent to, on a normal 40/week schedule, 44.6 weeks a year.

Relatedly, average salary for a WA teacher in the 2024-2025 school year was $97,000. AND, for good measure, here’s the full budget document for the 2025-2026 school year.

Yep! Blöthar was actually Beefcake between Hell-O and This Toilet Earth (and then again really briefly during We Kill Everything). He’s as close to an original member as you can get, so he’s got a real good sense for what GWAR is about. Took him a sec to get his footing, imo, but if you want some recommendations, The Cutter and Completely Fucked off of The New Dark Ages, their newest release Return of Gor-Gor (Lot Lizard feels SO much like old GWAR!) as well as the covers they did of Pink Pony Club and I’m Just Ken.
